Probably going to have at least 25 new faces.
And that means 25 question marks IMO.

That and 100% of the media, 100% former players and 99% of the fan base all wanted Cannizaro. We managed to find the one AD in the country that didn't.nowave wrote:if this isnt proof of our players having wanted cannizaro as head coach i dont know what is. good luck to you jp

Willsey and Montalbano have also made it clear on social media that they were not happy with Jewett this year.
I was a Cannizaro supporter, but if raiding our roster is his method of building a team, then to heck with it.
Now, if only there was some kernel to believe in Jewett.

JP had a choice of about 5 schools and he went with Miss St because of Andy and Jake. Jake signed him at Tulane. He'd still be at Tulane had Pierce remained HC. Pierce offered him a spot at Texas. No Andy didn't steal him away. JP was leaving regardless. Had he been drafted he was going to sign.
Something else here to consider. Just like Andy, JP was that rare local kid that his dream growing up was to play ball for Tulane.
He bled olive and blue. For him to leave with one year left and to pass up the Friday night starter role at his dream school says a lot.

Glad to know I am always on your mind. He doesn't play for Tulane anymore. I don't care about anyone else's program. Grow up.Show Me wrote:Crickets from winwave I see.

Wow for somebody that supposedly folows the program so closely you don't even know he's done eligibility wise.Show Me wrote:I hope Colletti comes back I noticed he's not playing Summer ball.

Well he was apart of this program. No thoughts on how this effects us? Is this good or bad for Tulane?winwave wrote:Glad to know I am always on your mind. He doesn't play for Tulane anymore. I don't care about anyone else's program. Grow up.Show Me wrote:Crickets from winwave I see.
both france and grant brown announced months ago they were not returning to tulane as fifth year seniors, whether that was their choice or jewetts i dont know. but after going undrafted they are technically free to sign and play immediately with whoever would take them since they both graduated. cannizaro isnt "raiding our roster". hes just adding a piece to his roster that will step in and help him win some games, which is exactly what he would be doing if he were our coach and what jewett should be doing to improve our ballclub.DrBox wrote:I was a Cannizaro supporter, but if raiding our roster is his method of building a team, then to heck with it.

Congrats to JP! He will now play for the HC of his choice and a great pitching coach to steal a couple observations. I have no idea. I don't personally know JP. And I expect the cost at MSU to be lower than another year at TU. Wish him well.
