I'll trade Reggie Bush for Matt right now.

Maybe the Saints will get lucky, and Ditka will become the Bears' head coach again. Then, Iron Mike (more like IRON HEAD) will throw in ten other players to send to the Saints. Hey, he was dumb enough to do about the same thing years ago to get Ricky Williams. Why not now?

Matt's a great guy. We played golf together at the Tulane Ray Hester golf outing a few years ago. He deserves alot better from the Bears.

OC Mike Martz resigned from the Bears. His offense opened up all of Matt's talents. Any new guy coming in is most likely to change that. Matt should go the free agent route at this point to get his just payment. The Bears should have worked out a deal during this past season. Martz leaving is bad news.

Resigned for 4 years, 32 million. Unreal. Nice if he would donate for an indoor practice facility.

We need some ex Tulane players who made it to the NFL to make the trip back and help motivate the team.

Matt was on the Dan Patrick Show this morning. He came across as funny and a very low key, nice guy. Tulane even got some pub- Dan asked Matt "Why Tulane?" Matt said his Dad played there, we were his only offer besides McNeese (where his brother played) , Tulane is 30 minutes from home, and great academics. "Easy decision" according to Matt.

He is a great representative for Tulane in the NFL.

Hope he has a 100 yard game next week- in a losing effort vs. the Saints. ;)

Forte looked awesome last night. Too bad he never could get the D'Angelo Williams type contract. However after watching the Saints-Panthers game, I understand the Bears position (which by the way is cheap.)

What is interesting is if Forte had played out his contract to true free agency. He would have been franchised last year at around $7mm and again this year at about $9mm. If he stays healthy, he would have come on the market still in his prime as a top 5 running back in the league. I understand why he signed with the Bears but it would have been really interesting to see him on the market next spring.

I assume he is a Bear for life unless traded or waived. His next free agency window will be at age 30 or so. Very old for a running back to get a mega contract. Meanwhile let's hope his career stays strong.

Forte has been the workhorse for the Bears since he got there. Last year, summer of 2012 he signed the following deal:
7/16/2012: Signed a four-year, $30.4 million contract. The deal contains $13.8 million guaranteed -- a $4 million signing bonus, $5 million first-year roster bonus, all of Forte's first-year base salary, and his $4 million offseason roster bonus in 2013. Forte is eligible for an annual $100,000 workout bonus in years two through four. Another $4 million is available through incentives. 2013: $1.7 million (+ $4 million roster bonus due 3/31 + $500,000 in per-game roster bonuses), 2014: $5.55 million (+ $1 million in per-game roster bonuses), 2015: $6.65 million (+ $1.05 million in per-game roster bonuses), 2016: Free Agent.
