We play at USM tomorrow night at 6. The game will be on ESPN+. They are 15-9, 4-2. For the most part they have been going Johnny Wholestaff in mid-week games. Cole Boswell has started and goes about 2 innings. They have an RPI of 53. Good opportunity for a quality road win.

Small time facilities for a small time program.

McCarty English will get the start forUSM. Still likely to be a Johnny Wholestaff evening. Let's hope our hitters help cause that:

Bullpens worst outing of the year. USM is a good team. Have been for the past 10 years.

USM won 9-4. USM is a light hitting team. Poor performance by the pen.

USM wins 9-4. Banks with another HR. Only bright spot. Lombardi was ok, but walked 4 in 4.1 innings of work.

Why, because we lose to a good team. We are 15-10. Let’s take care of business in conference starting Thursday night against UTSA at Turchin.

People should give the Sun Belt the recognition and respect they deserve. They play good baseball and football. It is not a crap league. I know no one wants to hear that but it is time to give them some credit because they have earned it.

As compared to us, we hired a crappy AD who blessed us with Willie Fritz (thank God) but NOTHING else. He sacrificed all sports for football. Baseball and basketball suffered to the extent we are playing catch up with the Sun Belt, Mountain West, & Missouri Valley. Just have to keep working and hire the right people.

True. I’ll fix it.
Sun Belt gets another win over CUSAAC.
Their league getting better and ours getting worse.

The Southern Miss batters were certainly hot last night against our bullpen, no doubt. We need more early offense to take the pressure off of the pitching staff. Most games, we don't put runs on the board until/after the 5th inning.

There is definitely a pattern that has developed about falling behind early and coming back in the later innings. You certainly can't live like that and expect to win big.

It's pretty obvious we have trouble hitting quality pitching.

Based on what?
Based on the fact the we leave TOO MANY men on base. Also, Pitching is suspect an inconsistency in fielding....I see nothing that would lead me to believe that this team can finish above .500...Hope I'm wrong....

LOL. I meant to say most other teams starting pitchers and no we haven't faced a lot of quality starting pitching with this schedule.

We certainly have all those problems. We may finish over .500 due to the weakness of the schedule and the conference.
