This is great news for all involved. Stockton’s first decade was extremely successful, then there was a gradual decline into mediocrity. Tulane basketball needs a major rebuild. Let’s go David Harris!

Finally, we can stop the insistence that Harris publicly fire Lisa.
one less "buyout"...time to drop the hammer on hunter
Be a Hero Today.... Adopt a Shelter Pet... The Beatles once sang "Can't Buy Me Love"... I disagree, unconditional Love can be bought, for the nominal adoption fee at your local Pet Shelter !
Yes, now that she has finally done the right thing and retired, which I have been pleading that she do. Yes she should get a landing spot, If she wants one, as should Rice.anEngineer wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2024 10:40 am Finally, we can stop the insistence that Harris publicly fire Lisa.

Anyone know if Grace Daley is coaching? Any other former players?

Just let her become an asst. AD with fundraising responsibilities for the last 2 years of her contract.

And you would know. I don’t know how you keep track of all of this, but is it necessary to call out people for this. Have you ever said something and perhaps changed your mind. Just feels mean spirited because it is so dang constant.

Congratulations to Coach Stockton on her retirement. She was loyal to Tulane and won a lot more games than she lost. She is a very youthful 60 and I’m sure that basketball will figure into her retirement… perhaps in an administrative position.
As another poster mentioned, Coach Stockton got a big coaching boost from Katie Meier, the current head coach of WBB at Miami. Meier was a star player at Duke before being hired by Stockton and coming to Tulane as an assistant coach in 1994. She advanced to associate head coach in 1999. During this period, the Wave had an overall record of 164–52 (.759) in seven seasons, including the highest ranking in school history (13th by the Associated Press) in 2000 and a school-record 27 wins the same season. While Meier was on staff, Tulane went to the NCAAs every year. In the twenty-something years since, we’ve made the big dance only three times.

It was posted less than a week ago . So easy to remember and like I said it's a constant in his postings.

Where is the flip flop? In both posts, I'm consistently looking out for what's best for Lisa with regards to a contract she signed. She chose to retire, she could have been fired and paid out the contract. For all we know, she was and it was announced this way as a courtesy.winwave wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2024 1:56 pmNo D that wassn't exactly your feelings-

Another on the long list of winwave twisting people's words, so he can win an argument that doesn't exist. It makes him feel better. Like most lawyers, you know winwave is the smartest man in the room.

LOL. The flip flop is clear as day. You said she should rather be fired tand get paid than take a position in athletics.DfromCT wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2024 4:26 pmWhere is the flip flop? Then accept a role as a fundraiser. Changing words, changing stories, typical winwave.winwave wrote: ↑Tue Mar 19, 2024 4:29 pmLOL. The flip flop is clear as day. And I stand by that statement and it not being a flip flop, but if it makes you feel better, you can call it one, I don't care what you think.

Good retirement presser. It’s up on ESPN+
Lisa went out on her own terms. This was confirmed by Harris. She had mentioned it to him about a month ago. Very emotional experience. Lisa in her 30 years made a huge impact on her players., coaches, staff etc.
She made a point to tell all her coaches one on one. They managed to keep it from each other. .
Lisa said she has no plans for now and plans on doing nothing for at least the next 6 months or so. She’ll be at all the games in the future when possible.
Once again congratulations on your 30 years at Tulane!

If you haven't seen the presser, it's worth watching. She has incredible stats. Also, there must have been occasions where she was mentioned for other jobs, but never left. Coaches Uhlman and Sumrall were there but Hunter was not. I would hope that he's out of town, because he certainly should have been there.
