The Shockers are winners of 6 of their last 9, including an 83-76 victory on Feb 26th in Fogelman. This is a team not to be taken lightly, and could easily end our season. A slow start is not what we need and any thoughts of the next game are foolish.
1-0 today. Sound familiar?

Tulane is favored by 2. As D noted we can't have a slow start which is what we did both times against this team. We are playing for our NIT lives. It's a shame for this talented and experienced group that that is what they are playing fo barring a miracle run to the championship. So let's get after it early and kick some butt.

aaahhhh...back in the day, schools would shun the ncaa tournament for a chance to "play at the Garden"..all NIT games were in NYC, not on campus....hell, there were times when highly ranked teams told the ncaa to fuk off, we are going to the Garden...Maruette, with Al McGuire in about '69 or '70 was the breaking point...the NCAA then mandated that all schools getting an ncaa bid HAD to participate, it then went and bought the NIT tournamentwinwave wrote: ↑Fri Mar 10, 2023 9:22 am Tulane is favored by 2. Be a Hero Today.... Adopt a Shelter Pet... The Beatles once sang "Can't Buy Me Love"... I disagree, unconditional Love can be bought, for the nominal adoption fee at your local Pet Shelter !
We all know that history. Those days are long gone and it's a minor tourney.golfnut69 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 10, 2023 11:19 amaaahhhh...back in the day, schools would shun the ncaa tournament for a chance to "play at the Garden"..all NIT games were in NYC, not on campus....hell, there were times when highly ranked teams told the ncaa to fuk off, we are going to the Garden...Maruette, with Al McGuire in about '69 or '70 was the breaking point...the NCAA then mandated that all schools getting an ncaa bid HAD to participate, it then went and bought the NIT tournamentwinwave wrote: ↑Fri Mar 10, 2023 9:22 am Tulane is favored by 2. Great win! Awesome to play on Saturday in March.
Everyone contributed tonight for the win.

Hats off to Coach Hunter. We never lost the lead after being down 6-4 very early.
And, while everyone contributed, R. J. McGee came through in the clutch once again.

Guys, looking ahead beat Memphis, another shot at Houston, a win would give the Big 12 more reason to believe maybe Tulane should have been chosen versus Houston. Let's do it to give reason for the Big 12 to relook at us. Latest is the ACC and Pac 12 may merge to form a Super Conference leaving us and the Big 12.
