Good breakdown on Nick Anderson's chances at being drafted. Only issue I have is the writer TWICE used the word "reportedly" in referencing Anderson being smart in the classroom, even though in the beginning its mentioned that he was VALEDICTORIAN at his high school. That should be enough not to require the word "reportedly".

"That mantra is the only consistent thing that never needs to ever change for the rest of this program’s existence because that is all that matters & as long as that keeps occurring, everything will handle itself" -- Nick Anderson

I think Nick Anderson was as much responsible for the team's turn-around as Pratt or Spears. His leadership was exemplary. And his play and tackle on 4th and 1 late in the game at K-State was the defensive play of the year, IMHO. Hard to argue against The Safety, but I don't think we sniff the Cotton Bowl if he doesn't make that play that set us up in Wildcats territory for the game-winning TD. I've never seen one man wreck an option play as he did on that play.

Nick is a great player and leader. I was disappointed that he didn't get a Senior Bowl invite. I hope he gets drafted because he deserves to. He will end up in someone's camp and he will make the team. Best of luck to THE LEADER OF THIS TEAM!!!

Don’t miss this one!! Great article on Nick’s rise from high school to JUCO then D1. His mom was a great parent that demanded excellence in the classroom and all A’s to be able to play FB.

“I just fell in love with New Orleans. Fell in love with the culture down here – not just the city, but the culture of the football program under Coach Willie Fritz. I saw the genuine relationships between the players and staff, appreciated the vibe around the team. I admired the university from an academic standpoint – I really felt at home from day one down here. And I knew that I would have the opportunity to contribute immediately, and be a part of something special. When it came down to it, it was an easy decision: I decided to roll with the Green Wave.”

A couple of corrections . It was Rae Juan not Ray John. The team was the second to win 12 games.

The writer also tells readers to go back and watch the Cotton Bowl if they didn't see it. Then he says the safety was a sack of Caleb Williams. There was another glaring mistake that I'm drawing a blank on right now. The article would have been a lot better had the writer let Nick proof it (or at least someone that watched the Cotton Bowl!) But it did have some great background information about Nick and the way the program is run. Don't overlook the fact that the writer points out Nick wasn't the only NFL hopeful that praised Kurt Hester. Apparently Hester is a whole lot more than the coach in the weight room.

Absolutely on Hester. If you remember his first days here he had the kids doing all kids of different competitive games. Tug of war etc.DfromCT wrote: ↑Sat Feb 11, 2023 9:27 amThe writer also tells readers to go back and watch the Cotton Bowl if they didn't see it. Then he says the safety was a sack of Caleb Williams. Side note: he came out to speak one night this season at our booster club meeting and as far as I was concerned he was the most interesting speaker we’ve had out in years. He was a huge get for Tulane FB. He’s help train multiple collegiate athletes on their journey to achieving their goals of playing on a pro level. (Including baseball) well into the 100’s pro ball athletes has worked with on a lower level.

I just read that for the firs time. It might be the best look at the heart and soul (all 4 captains) of the amazing turn around season.
