Greatest run I have ever seen in person. He so deserved to win this.

It was phenomenal to watch live on TV. A step or two after his jump, as he kicked it back into gear, I screamed "He's gonna go" and my boys yelled, "To the house Tyjae". It's a moment I'll always remember, and I wasn't even there. I smile for y'all that were! This 2022 team healed a whole lot of wounds for us old-time die-hards.

It's the kind of run that Barry Sanders used to make. Against the Saints, I saw Sanders look back over his shoulder to see where the pursuit was coming from to make his cut. Tyjae does the same thing before leaping and accelerating.

Reminds me of the great Gale Sayers!!!
The way Tyjae cuts side to side on a dime without slowing down. Think Tyjae is faster, says was 6 ft 198 lbs close size comparison.

Looks a lot like Walter Payton as well, how low he can get to the ground and then get into full sprint with legs moving what looks like multiple directions….. not sure of what payton size was.

I think he will be the next Darren Sproles in the league. Can't wait to follow him.

I'll add a touch of Tony Dorsett--from the standpoint that once he breaks free, his acceleration in the first 10 or 15 yards is unmatched--but at the same time is max speed won't enable him to outrun some NFL DBs. If he can stay injury-free he'll have a fantastic pro career.

I don't think pure speed is his primary weapon, as he regularly gets caught from behind. You can see he knows it too, as he's often free of the pack but looking for who is going to catch him. Prime example: his first carry of the 2nd half of the Cotton Bowl.

What I think sets Spears apart is his burst. Also, his ability to see the field and anticipate where he's going after he gets past the next tackler. He breaks a lot of tackles and gets a ton of yardage after first contact. I, too, think he's going to be fun to watch in the NFL, I hope he gets into the right system and stays healthy.

I watched a lot of the Senior Bowl practice round today--carried on the ESPN channels. Tyjae had a very good day. The announcers couldn't stop talking about him. He demonstrated the acceleration and shiftiness that we all have become used to. He was clearly the standout RB, repeatedly breaking runs into the open. At the end of the session, the announcers were making some concluding comments, and one said something to the effect, if it was my team, I'd have to have Tyjae Spears.

The practices will be televised again today. One team starts at 11:30 CST and the other starts at 2pm CST. Yesterday the National Team went first, with the American Team practicing in the afternoon. I don't know if they'll stick with that order or flip the order from day to day. One of the articles said that Tyjae and Dorian were on the National Team, but I think they were practicing with the American Team yesterday, in the afternoon session.
