They had an AD and things are also just different at the top of the market. There are a limited number of candidates that fit the bill at a UGA. They wouldn't have fired Richt if they didn't already basically have their guy verbally committed.

Exactly. You should always have someone lined up. I don't think Tulane has ever done this.
