Fun statistical graph... here's ESPN's probability of winning the Cotton Bowl from the beginning of the game to the end of the 4th qtr. This also correlates to my blood pressure and pulse rate:

Same here. Good thing I work by myself. No one can tell me to turn it off.

I've been very ineffective at work all week. Good thing I work remotely, but my colleagues all know about my Cotton Bowl experience!Wave755 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 06, 2023 2:34 pmI just watched it again about 5 minutes ago, still exciting as Hell!!!!!!!!!!RobertM320 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 06, 2023 2:32 pmSame here. I am hoping we can keep Williams off the field and frustrate him by limiting possessions with our run game. That is the key IMHO. Not sure we can win a shootout even though their D is not very good.

I got the points right but not the method. We scored fast all day except we scored in the perfect amount of time at the end.BC Wave wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 10:08 pm45+Jaxwave wrote: ↑Mon Jan 02, 2023 8:50 am Not sure that our slowish DL esp DEs can contain or get pressure on Caleb Williams and their offense today. If you live in town immediately go out and buy the Sunday Times-Pic Advocate today. There’s an entire section recapturing Tulane’s incredible season game by game culminating with our great Cotton Bowl win. And all the advertisements are congratulatory of Tulane. I’m sitting here reading it online and I’m actually quoted in one of the stories while in Arlington.

“Can you believe we’re here?” Tulane alumni and lifelong supporter Tim Sweeney said as he gestured toward a Cotton Bowl sign at 9:30 a.m.
“How incredible is this?”
Once they made it inside, hundreds gathered in a six-lane line, selling out all of the Green Wave’s on-site merchandise well before kickoff, eager to purchase a memento from a day no one saw coming.

Yes it's a nice entire section. There are only two new stories there . The rest are ones previoulsy written. Here's the other new one:

Wasn't there a way of ordering souvenir paper Cotton Bowl tickets?
TP did something similar in 1998. I still have that Tulane section.winwave wrote: ↑Sun Jan 08, 2023 9:01 am Yes it's a nice entire section. There are only two new stories there . The rest are ones previoulsy written. Here's the other new one:

Yes, through the Cotton Bowl Store (online). They let you customize with your seat info! I got mine with the display cases on Friday. Just had my best friend and college roomate in Mandeville buy two copies of todays Times-Pic. I'm making a shadow box for the 2023 season. Does anyone know how to get in touch with Fear the Wave for NIL purposes? I'm looking to get my Cotton Bowl Champions banner (also available through the Cotton Bowl Store) signed by a few key players! I'll have a wall in my home dedicated to this year!anEngineer wrote: ↑Sun Jan 08, 2023 9:12 am Wasn't there a way of ordering souvenir paper Cotton Bowl tickets?

I was surprised Scott got the year of the filed storming wrong. It was 1973.

I wasn't there (you lucky bastards!) but even I knew that! 1972 is when they lost, also at Tulane Stadium, but were close to scoring if I remember the story correctly. Winwave, you and others were there for both, tell us the story please!

We were down 9-3. We had driven down inside their 10. On the last play our QB threw to our RB at about the 2 but he threw the pass behind him He had to break stride to reach back to make the catch which allowed the LB. To catch up and make the tackle just short of the goal. Myself and many others knew we would win in 1973 . When the game got moved to NOLA. there was no doubt we’d win and we did.!

I was there for both 1972 & 1973. Our slogan among kid Tulane fans after the 1972 game was “one yard & closing.”winwave wrote: ↑Sun Jan 08, 2023 11:04 am We were down 9-3. After the ‘72 game (a heartbreaker), I absolutely believed we’d beat them in 73. Certainly one of the greatest games along with this season. My brother got handcuffed for trying to take down the goalpost—no humor from the greenie cops

Need to start a YouTube-Anonymous group to get the help I need so as to stop watching video of the final 4:30 of the game. How long will it take before we tire of watching this?

And still, no congratulations from Scott Cowen?
