I've seen reports that it was a massive heart attack.

A source told my brother who is a big State fan that he coded three times and they are very worried about the lack of oxygen to the brain during those episodes. Also Lane Kiffin tweeted this on a post since taken down, “Truly loved him and every minute I was around him. Can't believe I was just hugging him a few weeks ago. Having coached with his former players and coaches they always said amazing things about him...I just keep hoping somehow it's not true. I can't picture not having the pirate around to text and laugh with."
So it could be he can’t be revived and on a breathing machine.

Hopefully, he recovers but if not, we’ll have to sweat Willie to Starkville.

Willie would be a terrible fit for "Cowbell State," and I believe both he and MSU know it.

It would appear that the best scenario for Coach Leach is that he simply survives. I think his coaching career is over.

very sad day for us, my wife, growing up in Lubbock, and being a Tech alum and huge supporter of Tech Sports... I remember us protesting Leach being fired....he was unique individual, never really played football, Law degree...when he was at Valdosta State, with Hal Mumme, the WR's coach was Dana Holgersen....

Sorry to see him pass. Thoughts and prayers for his family and friends. He was great for college football. When asked what he'd like written in his obituary he said it didn't matter to him because he'd be dead.

Mike Leach was very close to coming to Tulane back in 2011 (RD made 2 trips to visit him in Key West) before the Washington St gig came calling. Can you imagine Mike Leach in New Orleans? Would have been a wild ride for sure.

No need for a deep breath. After the way GT donors ,fans and students soundly rejected Willie and got the job pulled from him MSU was not going to be looking his way.
