Tell this young man that Tyjae Spears might break the Cotton Bowl rushing record (281 yards) and he could be the next Tulane back setting records. Reel him in, Willie!

It's an interesting twist that he was also offered by Georgia Tech.

"Rated as the No. 72 RB in the 2023 class by 247Sports Composite, Cornist was the Southwest District Offensive Player of the Year after rushing for 1,629 yards on 181 carries with 27 touchdowns for Winton Woods. "

9.0 yards per carry. and 27TDs. Not too shabby.

He was offensive player of the year THREE TIMES! If you watch the tweet video where he announces his commitment, he crosses off mascot/logos at the bottom. It seems to me his final 3 were Michigan State, Tulane and Kentucky.

Spears has done wonders for showing that Tulane can showcase a RB in front of a national audience.

Spears has the nation's longest string of consecutive 100 yard rushing games at 7. And until two games ago, he was only getting about 12-14 carries/game.

And at one point he had a string of I think three games with 100 yards in the first quarter! USC has issues stopping the run. The Cotton Bowl rushing record is 281. Just saying...talk about a big stage!
