Per Sports illustrated:

The school spent millions on the Birmingham evacuation plan after spending millions on COVID-19 testing in 2020. Fritz, courted two years ago for the job at Kansas, makes about $2.2 million a year on a contract that runs through the 2026 season. Incentives this year could get him to nearly $3 million, putting him within the top five of Group of 5 coaches with the departure to the Big 12 of Cincinnati, Houston and UCF.

What are the bottom half P5 coaches making? That's what we are really competing against.

The short answer is more than Fritz is making. I couldn't find a single P5 HC making less.

The average FBS Salary is @ $3.6 million. That's all 131 programs. 117 of 131 make over $1 million. Fickel and Holgorsen make $5, Malzahn makes $4 million. Brian Kelly makes $9 million from LSU, Nick Saban $12 million (top). Terry Bowden is making $600k (bottom). Fritz is a little below the middle of the pack: 74 FBS coaches make more than he does, 45 make less.
