I have no quarrel with Willie Fritz leaving Tulane for a better paying job. I do think that it would be a terrible ending for his tenure here if announced his departure less than a week before the most important game in half a century. This would show total disrespect to his team. I’ll believe it when the school announces it.

I don’t think it’s confirmed yet but definitely negotiating.

Whether the story is confirmed or not, you can blame our athletic Director for not putting up one decent facility for this man!. We have not invested in the facilities as we should have, nor do they give a crap! You can criticize all you want but if there are no facilities, you will never, never keep a good coach. And from the looks of things the administration continues not to care. Dannen, you can block us naysayers all you want, but in the end it is we longtime fans that know the true story.! Dannen, you have failed at your job! Regardless of the outcome of this situation!

Georgia Tech alums are very disappointed at the rumors that Fritz will be hired. They are staging an on-campus protest within the hour.

I have no issue with doing this prior to the bowl game. To do it before a conference championship with only one week to prepare and he is negotiating a new contract at a new school? Screw Willie. He better not be allowed anywhere near that stadium on Saturday

He will not win at G.T.! He could have waited until after Saturdays game. I knew he would bolt as soon as he had a good season.

One hit wonder. Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

If he’s allowed to coach Saturday Dannen needs to be fired.

Disappointing, but not unexpected. There's nothing about Tulane that would keep even a 62-year old HC here.

And don't be surprised if Dannen's next.

Maybe Svoboda can take the shackles off the offense now.

This SOB got a vote of confidence after going 2-10 last year, then he goes 10-2 and tells you to shove it. It also gives Tulane admin the ammunition to show that's why Tulane isn't going to play this game.
