is this why the press box side looks like a high school stadium? have always wondered...
Yes. The original renderings / plans for the stadium had a wraparound 2nd deck on the west side with decks on either corner to mirror the east side. Alas :/
My biggest concern came from the previous administration saying to expand they would triple deck the East side as not to bother the couple of complaining neighbors on Audubon Blvd. Now could you imagine the look of that monstrosity.

F the NIMBY'S...If and when the time comes, Double Deck all the way around...Let them challenge.....I believe Tulane has the right to construct on their campus what they want. Let NIMBY challenge, Tulane can wear them out IF they want to. THEN, utilize plaza in front of Yulman (wasted space) Build out to Ben Weiner, similar to current Hertz Center...all they way and then up 3/4 stories for Football Operations, weight room and offices, with bottom and open floor for access to Yulman,,,Very feasible IF they want to do it..Of course, takes $$$$$

That would be a monstrosity. Plus it would funnel much more noise onto Audubon. Either litigate to restore our rights, or just start paying off the NIMBY’s immediately affected—but don’t further lopsided Yulman.

People need to remeber to not be misled by those that keep saying it's just neighbors on Audubon that resisted. It was the entire area including the other side of Claiborne. Trying to add to it would raw them back out. Not so easy to deal with as just a few homeowners behind the stadium.

These people are clueless. No wonder no school in the conference likes them. Give the Big12 a couple of years of UCF fans, and they'll really wish they had taken us instead.

I think since the Stadium is already built the expansion would only affect the sun for the pools on the Audubon side. That was why the height requirement came about. Capacity is not an issue. It’s strictly a “shady” deal Scott Cowen cut with those folks to allow for sun in their backyards.

Build the upper deck out of plexiglass. Problem solved!

Yeah,, I’m crazy! Crazy about being a P5 conference! Crazy about keeping a good coach! Crazy to give that coach all the stuff he needs to be successful. Crazy for a new weight room up to standards. crazy for enough space for a football operations building. Crazy for new coaches offices. and finally, I must be crazy for thinking that an architect could design a beautiful building with a beautiful entrance to the stadium and still achieve all of this! Damn what was I thinking? I’m musty CRAZY!

How would others in the area, beyond those immediately behind Yulman, be able to demonstrate damages? How are they being harmed by a full upper deck?

The resistance is about the traffic and parking along with having people walking in your area late in the evening. So adding capacity only increases those issues. So it would be met with hard resistance. Plus Tulane signed agreements with the neighborhood so it is in a tough spot.

Anyone wanting good seats should go to Tulane’s ticket site a little after 5 today as that as when STH unclaimed seats will go on sale.

Ironically enough, I told people earlier today not to wander across Claiborne Ave after the game and not to consider parking over there.

Once it was made clear that the tickets were controlled by the conference, UCF fans still whining. Now the conference held tickets from them.

Also, if we make it to the Cotton Bowl, I'd really hope we can play Penn State or USC, and not Tennessee. Their fans are just as much a bunch of elitist aholes as any other SEC fanbase. They're pissed they may get sent to the Cotton Bowl because "they don't want to play a damn G5 school."

Fuck em.

Earlier I mentioned the good local coverage of our game. Now a new Christmas parade by Kern Studios with Macy type balloons has had it's route and time changed in deference to the Tulane game.

You are not thinking college campus, greenspace ground level beauty, Not cluttered with buildings. Other areas to give coach what he wants.

New playoff system will likely eliminate conference championship games going forward. Tulane vs UCF gets a mention.

https://theathletic.com/3954930/2022/12 ... ed_article
American Athletic Conference: We didn’t mention this game above because UCF–Tulane is a complete afterthought nationally right now. In the 12-team system, this would be a play-in game. Fans of teams currently ranked between No. 2 and No. 10 probably would be very interested in who wins in case their teams wind up seeded No. 5. And in other years, the Mountain West and Sun Belt title games may be of equal interest — especially if the teams fighting to be the sixth highest ranked conference champ are in different leagues.
