Alex Ainsworth tosses a no-hitter vs Curtis
https://www.theadvocate.com/baton_rouge ... ebece.html
The No. 9 Patriots (19-9-1) struggled against Ainsworth. The senior Tulane commitment tossed his first prep no-hitter. He struck out three Curtis hitters and allowed only three more to reach base.

“(Ainsworth) was awesome,” Catholic coach Brad Bass said. “He’s been doing that all year for us. He’s a guy you want on the mound when you want to set the tone for a series like this. Real proud of him tonight.”

When that article was posted about Scheuermann, it made sense that we recruit at least some of his players!

What we should be doing is bringing in Scheuermann.

There’s a bunch of Tulane commits in this State semifinal game between Rummel and Catholic
https://crescentcitysports.com/rummel-r ... emifinals/
Junior Tulane commit Giancarlo Arencibia did the job on the mound and at the plate as the Raiders broke a sixth-inning tie, exploding late to whip the Bears 8-2 at McMurry Park in a game heard live on NASH ICON 106.1 FM.
Arencibia went 6 2/3 innings, allowing two runs on three hits. He walked four and struck out 10 and had great command with his high-riding four-seam fastball throughout. Arencibia also had the biggest hit of the game for Rummel, a two-out, RBI single in the top of the sixth to break a 2-2 tie, igniting a three-run rally.
The Bears (36-3) got even in the bottom of the second inning as Tulane commit Giancarlo Arencibia walked Prescot Marsh and Andrew Clapinski to start the inning and advanced both with a wild pitch. With two outs, Tulane commit Cole Cranford ripped a two-run double to left to even the game.
In the top of the seventh, Rummel got huge insurance as Tulane commit Evan Burg walked and Ryan was hit by a pitch for the second time. Centanni singled sharply to right to load the bases.

Are we now heavily recruiting the local area now that we can offer NIL $ to help with the cost of tuition?

I noticed that also. Heavy local recruiting similar to Joe B days. Might be Legislature Scholarships also.

As Louisiana residents they can also get TOPS and then a couple of years ago Tulane came up with some program to help state residents with tuition. i don't remember the specifics. I'm sure there's a thread on it here somewhere. As to NIL money we don't have a robust program and it seems it would be more aimed at football and basketball players. Not saying athletes from other sports aren't getting any but I wouldn't think it would be anything that really helps close the gap on tuition. Like tps said these could be legislative scholarships at work. anyone know their perfect game ratings?

Arencibia, who like Ryan committed early in his prep career, went 7-1 with a 1.90 ERA for the Raiders as a junior, including a pair of no-hitters in the postseason that earned him Allstate Sugar Bowl Amateur Athlete of the Month for April 2023. He struck out 83 in 59 2/3 innings.

I am at a point now listening to Coach Fritz about being a developmental program, is recruiting the barometer of success or coaching and developing players upward? Jewett did not coach up, players declined in our program!!! I believe we have to look at coaching staffs differently than in the past, sure you must have a medium to high base in recruiting but the coaching needs to coach players up to be a successful and winning program at Tulane, culture, and teamwork are a must. A reason looking at a winning coach where recruiting is easy may not be the right choice. If Fritz leaves, we need a replacement that can take good players and make them great like Coach Fritz has. Tyjae, Nick, Duce, and Dorian Williams were developmental players, they came into our program lightly recruited low 3-star players at best. Same with Pratt only recruited by the IVY league schools. Some good high school players are sitting the bench with Coach Stockton. Is she the problem? Keeping Coach Fritz is a must at all costs because of the above reasons!!!
