As far as other Black coaches who could fit at Georgia Tech:

Marshall’s Charles Huff has already taken his Thundering Herd to Notre Dame for a massive upset victory and brought a Nick Saban blueprint to Huntington, W.Va.
Florida State’s Alex Atkins and Miami’s Josh Gattis are coordinators in the ACC (Gattis was considered for the Virginia job as well as other head-coaching vacancies).
Ryan Walters is quietly coordinating one of the best units in the sport so far this season at Illinois.

Top AD candidate for Georgia Tech:
According to a report Monday morning by ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Utah States AD Hartwell is considered the top candidate to replace former Georgia Tech AD Todd Stansbury.

According to multiple reports Monday, Stansbury has been fired, along with head football coach Geoff Collins.

Hartwell is also a reported candidate for the Auburn AD job, which opened on Aug. 26 when Allen Greene resigned.

Since arriving in Logan in the summer of 2015, Hartwell has been quite successful as Utah State’s athletic director. He was named by Stadium Network as the 18th-best athletic director in the nation in 2020, and the fourth-best non-Power Five AD.

This past 2021-22 college sports season, three Utah State teams won conference championships — football, women’s volleyball and women’s gymnastics. All three teams were led by coaches hired by Hartwell.

Throw in Hartwell’s ties to the South — he is an Alabama native, went to school at The Citadel in South Carolina and has worked at the University of Mississippi and Troy University — and it is easy to understand the reported interest.

Alex Atkins is OC at Fla St in name only. Norvell is running the offense and calling the plays. Atkins is coaching the OL which he excels at. He is a fabulous recruiter who was being courted by other schools so Norvell named him OC to get him more money.
This doesn’t mean he wouldn’t be a good HC and leader. But he would need to hire great coordinators IMHO.

Arnie Fielkow, the CEO and president of the Jewish Federation of Greater New Orleans, announced his intention to step down after five years at the helm of the organization.

Arnie Fielkow, passed over in Tulane’s athletic director search, had a vision that included Fiesta Bowls and Big 12 membership

Arnie Fielkow, a former Saints executive and former New Orleans city councilman, became the center of attention after local radio personality Eric Asher released a 54-page document Fielkow wrote as he prepared for a prospective interview for the AD position.

Fielkow’s four-part “blueprint for success” had sections titled “The Vision,” “Tulane Athletic Priorities,” “Why Arnie Fielkow?” and “Action Plan.” It included an addendum with the names of about 90 potential football coaches to consider if Tulane decided to part ways with current coach Curtis Johnson.

I read his blueprint for success plan. I’ve never been more impressed with anything in all my years associated with Tulane. It was outstanding.
He probably had Tulane administration scared to death on how successful he was going to make Tulane Athletics. Reminded me a lot of Dave Dixon’s vision on Tulane.
Be proactive, being reactive is for losers..

I agree with your analysis. Arnie scared them. They would have been challenged for the first time to go big and spend serious money. That has and will never happen. So shortsighted.
