Hunter says the team is NCAA Tourney bound:

Injury bug hitting though.

BTW, in the article right now it says Williams is the most physical player he has coached. Actually it is Daniels that he said that about. The article will be edited to reflect that. Just wanted anyone who has read it to this point to know that.

Daniels makes more sense as that was out 6 foot 9 freshman (who has an LSU offer) who is our big man of the future.

Also interesting Holloway the Georgetown transfer is already a starter per hunter.

The current injuries are fine, but we can’t afford to lose anymore depth.

We NEED to add atleast one more top 100 matchup to the schedule. Losing texas A&M on the schedule was brutal.

The schedule does need beefing up. He needs to get that done.

Beefing up is a huge understatement. That pre-conference schedule is pathetic. Get a game or two at the SKC (is it still called that?) if necessary.

Agree D. We have to hope we get to play LSU and/or K. State in that tournament.

I love the confidence from Coach Hunter. The question is - if he does not deliver, will he face the consequences? Jewett promised the postseason in 2021 and survived despite missing after a complete collapse at the end of that year. We need to hold the coaches accountable.

I agree with you on accountability. Everyone knows he's prone to hyperbole. I think for this season the NIT would be what the department is hoping for. However as long as we have a winning record overall and in the conference the way Tulane operates he will get a 5th year. even if we don't make either tourney. He did take over a program that had just gone winless in conference for the first time. The only way he gets fired after this season is if we regress and have losing records overall and in the conference.

If Holloway is 5th starter, who is the 4th starter?

I'm hopeful Daniels ends up starting over Holloway. Hunter doesn't like starting freshman but Daniels is talented and tough . I think he offers a lot more.

What if Holloway and Daniels both start and you bring james off the bench. While that would likely be our “best” starting five, I feel like that’s a lot of scorers who need the ball. Keeping Forbes and Holloway on the floor with the second team makes sense to maintain scoring presence. Or hell we may need to play cook every almost every single minute to win games.
