Anthony Izzio from Charleston Southern. One of the worst pitching staffs in the country.
I’m officially out on Uhlman. This will be failed experiment. Hopefully a short-lived one

Wow. We’ve now hired two coaches from Jewett’s dead tree. Upsetting. Nobody wants to work here I suppose. Even Jewett let Izzio go.

He also recruited a frosh that was 2nd team all-American. Maybe he can bring him along. I know he was an excellent recruiter at PRCC.

I’m not surprised. Someone close to the program had mentioned Izzio to me. Uhlman hiring someone he’s worked with and is comfortable with.
He was a volunteer assistant on our 2020 team.

Izzio spent one season with the Green Wave after joining the Tulane baseball program in July 2019. During the shortened season, he was responsible for handling the day-to-day operations for the outfielders as well as handling batting practice responsibilities.

I question the hire too but let's keep the fact straight. He was not fired by TJ. He was the volunteer assistant in the COVID season. He left to take an assistant coaching position.

Be a Hero Today.... Adopt a Shelter Pet... The Beatles once sang "Can't Buy Me Love"... I disagree, unconditional Love can be bought, for the nominal adoption fee at your local Pet Shelter !

The program needs youth and energy. Sounds like this guy has tons of both.
Hopefully, he is able to learn quickly "on the fly" and impart usable knowledge to his pitchers.

Yes. I remember they were talking about a 3rd paid assistant. He came in to help run the Summer camp and that’s how they paid him. Hope it works out but I’m not exactly overwhelmed at this point.

The program needs to completely breakaway from anyone associated with Travis Jewett

That would technically include Dannen—make it happen.

Needs to get some pitchers from the portal real quick if he wants to have any chance of success this year.

I’m still waiting on the announcement of a hitting coach

That’ school upriver hired it’s pitching coach and will pay him $750,000 a year! We still try to pay our coaches with green stamps! You have to be old to understand that one!

Are you offering to donate that salary to the athletic department? Otherwise, very few schools can afford to pay that to a pitching coach.

DBS making a good point. We don’t even pay our HC close to that. We can do better. We are falling further and further behind.

To compare us to the school up river is foolish. Look at the fan support, plus the LSU Athletic Foundation. They alone can support an Athletic Program above us with no support from the school financially. Quit bassing the school for what is an impossible task. Fans must contribute and not wait for the school. Goes hand in hand. Many financial contributors wait to contribute if they think their will be a payback. Fan support brings contributors wanting to be out front and center, but they do not want to look like fools before empty events. With that said we should be able to keep up with the ULL's and SMU's of the Athletic Departments.

Would you keep contributing to a charity if you know that charity is misspending the money or not using it properly! I think not.
