We have one pitcher who is transferring in:

Gavin Smith, a RHP, from Dyersburg State Community College, has committed to Tulane this evening. He was originally a Florida State signee back in the COVID season; This season he was a relief pitcher on a club that finished 42-13; He pitched about 44 innings and had 57 strikeouts with a 3-0 record and 2 saves. ERA of 3.45.

You guys need to investigate better. looks like he has control issues, 27 walks in 40 innins this Spring!!!

He might have control issues, but I would not put much stock in the Acadian Cane Cutters league. He was a highly rated player coming out of Louisiana and originally committed to Ole Miss before going to USM. During those bs summer league teams, players are fine-tuning their own game such as throwing nothing but breaking balls or changing arm slots, etc.

I'm guessing he is a grad transfer and not costing us much.
