Jaxwave wrote: Mon Jun 13, 2022 5:49 pm It’s over guys. Any time going forward any athlete has a modicum of success at Tulane, he will be approached and in all likelihood will be gone. Follow pro sports esp hockey and golf to get your kicks. This college thing is over.
The answer is contracts. Instead of a renewable one year scholly, you offer a 4 year deal, with NIL money. In exchange, the player waives their right to enter the transfer portal unless the head coach leaves. They want to be treated like adults? They want to get paid to play? Then they need to make adult decisions. Either they want to be here or they don't.
At first take I agree, Robert. But those contracts work both ways. A kid that's a bust is locked in for 4 years of NIL money and his scholarship money, too? That's going to be rough sledding all around.

Its called negotiations. There could be school options, player options, an automatic release if they're drafted by MLB, buyouts, etc. Even if you do it as 2 two year deals, at least you could reduce the turnover somewhat.

Total rebuild. We’ll be lucky to win over 20 games next year.

Massey to Wake Forest along with Lee. I guess Walter decided it was better to just take Tulane's best players, than actually coach at Tulane.

Siegel 59 innings
Slagel 19 innings
Knueppel 21 Innings
Robinson 50 innings
Massey 68 innings

Plus probably a couple more guys transferring. That’s going to be at least 40% of the innings pitched this year. It’s not going to be good next year.

Brilliant idea! Shoot yourself in the foot in the sport that matters most over having your nose out of joint in a sport that matters little.

I don't see what that would accomplish either. We definitely want to maintain a good relationship with ACC schools

Are we making any additions from the transfer portal and when are they going to announce Adam Core as the hitting coach?
