Great to hear. Kind of surprised they started him in single A ball.

If his arm can hold up, that nasty curve of his can take him a long way.

Glad to see him having success. Not surprised. Hoping for the best for him.

I thought college pitchers were supposed to be a more finished product, able to jump right into Double A?

I was told quite a few years ago that a good D1 college pitcher should still start at single-A, but move up quickly. Things have changed rapidly the last few years as MLB teams' minor league systems have fewer teams. Today, college pitchers picked high are expected to contribute at the MLB level within 2 years, often much sooner.

Brandon Finnegan went straight from TCU and the CWS to KC and the World Series in the same year.

Which ended up ruining his career.

https://www.nytimes.com/2022/07/15/spor ... draft.html
Early indications for the Angels are promising, even if things at the big-league level are going south yet again: Nine pitchers from last year’s draft have made up a bulk of the Rocket City staff this season, including Silseth, Bachman, Jones, Murphy, Ky Bush, Brett Kerry, Eric Torres, Braden Olthoff and Mason Erla.

Trash Pandas? WTF? I have to look for their mascot, maybe post it here if it's good!

Interesting name no doubt. There is one team named the y'alls in the minors. I think they are located in Kentucky. Would have been an appropriate name here for our minor league team.

As sad as it is, it underscores the importance of using your time as a student-athlete to get a good education. Being a professional athlete can be instantly fleeting.
