None of them worth big dollars are staying b/c of NIL they stay b/c they haven't finished their 3rd year and aren't eligible for the draft.
Maybe when they get to the NFL they do that. All are still living on campus or home. Why would Manning buy his parents a house? Or Bronny James?
It’s the exception not the rule.
NIL deals are paying very well for the top athletes.

Because those two you chose have rich parents. But you knew that. The other 99.9% don't. They are not going to let their family continue to live in squalor while they are making millions. Ridiculous to suggest otherwise.

Ok Here’s the house you needed to see

Buckeye players investing NIL money for their future

Instead of using the money to buy cars and nice things, the pair are spending their cash on old houses.
"You've got young guys with a lot of money, and usually that's not good news, but it's important to roll it into assets for their future kids, for their future selves, because football is not forever," said Ceron..

Good story. Shows they aren't making $3.2 million. Two players pooling their money to buy run down houses cheap and spiff them up and turn a profit. Good for them.

Tampering blowing up since NIL started. G5 targeted.

Tampering Confidential: In college football, it’s inevitable and impossible to stop
https://theathletic.com/4512028/2023/05 ... ed_article
Ten days before college football’s spring transfer deadline, a Group of 5 head coach was fighting off covert efforts to swipe some of his best players.

This coach had buddies on SEC coaching staffs warning him. They were walking into their recruiting departments and noticing his players on highlight videos. “They let me know, ‘Coach, watch out. They’re about to take your kids,’” he said. He has won a few tug-of-wars with Power 5 schools trying to pay top dollar to poach his players.

“It certainly crosses your mind that we’re becoming a Triple-A farm system type of thing,” one Group of 5 general manager said. “That’s where we’re possibly heading.”

NIL is now the next arms race.
In the nascent world of NIL, those months are precious. At Florida’s new collective, fundraising efforts are beginning in earnest because the group needs to make up ground.

“This is the next arms race,” Napier told prospective donors on a webinar explaining Florida Victorious in April. “This is the next big thing relative to what you have to have in order to be competitive from a recruiting dynamic.”

EA Sports to start dishing out cash payments to college players that allow Name Image and Likeness on their 2024 video game. Tulane decides to join, Notre Dame appears to be the lone holdout for now.

Following Wednesday's agreement, officials at Wisconsin, Northwestern, TCU, Fresno State and Tulane said their schools would now opt in to the game.

A Notre Dame source told ESPN on Wednesday that the school had been in touch with EA Sports to help with NIL integration for the video game. It doesn't seem, though, that Notre Dame has made a decision on being in the game.

Be a Hero Today.... Adopt a Shelter Pet... The Beatles once sang "Can't Buy Me Love"... I disagree, unconditional Love can be bought, for the nominal adoption fee at your local Pet Shelter !

LOL. Again that is projected numbers not actual. As to the NFL salaries notice he says base salary. Burrow and the others are making a lot more than that this season. The teams convert things to various bonuses for salary cap purposes.

Burrow:

In 2023, Burrow will earn a base salary of $1,010,000 and a roster bonus of $4,535,018, while carrying a cap hit of $11,515,043 and a dead cap value of $11,515,044. Contract Notes: Projected to 4 years, $36.19M. Fully Guaranteed.

Good article explaining why NIL payments are kept hush. In summary there are two main reasons. They don’t want players to know what others players are getting to keep the payments down and second they don’t want locker room jealousy.

Ohio State AD Gene Smith claims recruits are asking for $5K to visit campuses in NIL era
https://www.dispatch.com/story/sports/c ... 910413007/
Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith has claimed in a written testimony that it has "become common" for potential prospective college athletes to ask for $5,000 merely to visit a school’s campus.

Smith's assertion comes on the same day he and others from across the world of college athletics appeared before the House Committee on Small Business in Washington, D.C., to discuss the impact of name, image and likeness (NIL) rules on college sports. Smith is among those who believe federal legislation is needed.

Booming for CFB
https://theathletic.com/4958639/2023/10 ... ed_article
College football is uniquely booming right now, and though there’s no singular reason why, I can think of two: the transfer portal and NIL.

“ It’s so refreshing,” said former Colorado, Washington and UCLA coach Rick Neuheisel, now an analyst for CBS Sports. “It’s been fantastic to see this kind of parity, and the seeds that were sown to get there, we need to keep track of so that we don’t lose it. It’s NIL and the ability to (transfer) to a place where you’re going to be coveted and taken care of.”
