Not Ready poor Spring Game, looks like he gained weight, not showing mobility or quick thinking on throws!!! Some fans even mentioned if his name was not Manning he would get lost in the conversation!!!

In his first collegiate showing, Manning had a forgettable outing. On the day, the 6-foot-4, 212-pounder completed five-of-13 pass attempts for 30 yards in an eventual 21-10 win for the White team.

"If his last name wasn’t Manning everyone would think this kid is garbage… He does not look like he’s ready to start as a True Freshman," a fan said.

In the spring game, Ewers made his case to stay the starter heading into his second year with the Longhorns. He looked sharp, connecting on on 16-of-23 attempts for 195 yards and one touchdown. Ewers' performance led to head coach Steve Sarkisian to name him the starter.

He’s 17 years old. Most would be in HS now. He’s nowhere near being ready to step in. But he’s going to grow stronger in college has a tremendous amount of upside. He’s a redshirt guy this season and will learn, grow and get stronger in the meantime. He’ll be right there with Peyton and Eli before he’s done.

Idiotic to make any judgement off of that spring game one way or the other.

Talking off the hip, KH beat MP 21-0 in his lst Spring Game. Facts not opinions, opinions are a dime a dozen.
Also why do you keep putting down one of our players when you have no Idea. KH won two state Championships at a level of high school football higher than Newman. Now leave our players out of any future conversations by you!!!

According to gbg.....Kai won the starter's job in the Tulane 2022 spring game. Why didn't Arch, who's 2 years younger in his first Spring game not follow suit?

Oh yeah, nothing changed in that game. The season opened and Kai was 3rd on the depth chart despite his incredible spring game performance.

Just some observations, watching Arch throw off his back foot, sidearm, unbalanced, he needs coaching his family should have given him by now. In Kai Hortons's recent interview with Crescent City he reflects on those same faults and how his coaching from Slade Nagle is teaching him to set and eliminate sidearming and throwing off the back foot.
“One thing I’m definitely looking to improve upon is my footwork. Coach Nagle is big on the details of footwork and how well you do that has a lot to do with accuracy and how the ball comes out. In the past, I’ve sometimes gotten in trouble with (overusing) my arm just because I do have a lot of arm strength and there have been times when I’ve left my feet planted somewhere else when I’m throwing an out route or something like that and getting my shoulders in the right place and not sidearming things. Correcting that is going to make me a more accurate quarterback.”

True, just a general interest story about Arch - I just put it up for our Archi-philes.

Math not a Longhorn fan strength, apparently, lol:

"Well, Manning's former high school, Isidore Newman, is a 2-A school comprised of 917 students. Meanwhile, the University of Texas is the ninth-largest college student body in the country, capping out at 52,384 in the 2022-23 academic year - 98.3 percent bigger than Isidore Newman."

I come up with 5712.5% myself. They weren't off by much.

Texas is not handing job to Arch Manning, why would one school get all the talent at QB, only one football.
KJ Lacey's Texas commitment could help force Arch Manning to play up

You never know, Manning must transfer here next year after Pratt goes to the NFL.

We shall see how it turns out. I just agree that it’s wayyyy to early to judge him. The kid tossed a few passed in a damn Spring Game, and folks are already calling him a bust. 😂 That’s ridiculous.

My early predictions on Arch is that he will be an above average College QB eventually.

According to another recent article that I think was in the Athletic Archie Manning said that Arch can't accept any money personally till he's the starter.
