Nor is it about giving Pratt honest and balanced feedback, as gb suggests—apples and oranges.
Houston do you ever use your head, I said if Pratt is playing bad don't sugar coat it do you comprehend. Nothing about analysis of strengths and weaknesses. The offense last year was 80% Tyjae Spears, unless we have a back or backs that can come close to Tyjae the pressure will be on Michael, like Coach says this is a different year, different team, time for Michael to excel, that is why he came back. Receivers will have to play better without Shay Wyatt and Duece Watts, Doubt if we will have one running back carry the mail like Tyjae. But we do need someone to breakout. The Offensive line will be better and more experienced that's a plus. All of "Green Wave Nation" will be pulling for Michael, but football is a team sport other pieces have to fall in place for him to be a legit Heisman candidate at the end of the year. Staying healthy is number 1, I just hope like Coach Fritz has done in the past he does not disclose Pratt's detail physical injuries even when he sat Pratt against Houston. I hold Green Wave Nation to the same standard as Michael works toward the Heisman, Good Luck Kid and may the pieces fall in place!!!
Are you kidding? "...time for Michael to excel, ...." I'd say he's already wildly excelled. Once again you go on a meandering monologue that has little to do with the thread. We aren't discussing the pros and cons of what might happen this coming season, we are simply promoting Pratt as a Heisman candidate based on what he's already done. You seemed to have missed his performance during the 2022 season. Wake Up!!
With Tyjae, now it is on Pratts shoulders alone!!! Lost Tyjae, Wyatt and Duece. I am confident in Michaels abilities but time will tell if the team gels with new coaching and players helping out. Blessings for a season like last year!!!

Tulane quarterback room may be the most underrated in the nation
https://crescentcitysports.com/tulane-q ... he-nation/
Michael Pratt
Pratt was ranked in the bottom 50 or so FBS quarterbacks by most analysts ahead of the 2022 season. His performance last year proved otherwise, earning him a spot in some top 10 rankings from national outlets these days.
According to NFL sources, the draft eligible Pratt is being talked about right behind the likes of a pair of likely top 10 overall picks – USC’s Caleb Williams and UNC’s Drake Maye. If that holds true, Pratt can play his way into first round consideration in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Pratt brings a strong mix of tangible talent and intangibles to the table as a prospect. Though he doesn’t have a Howitzer for an arm, he has more than enough strength to put adequate zip on the ball. Pratt continues to improve his mental processing ability as he enters a fourth college season as a starter. He’s accurate at all levels of the field with good timing, makes solid plays out of structure and knows both when and when not to use his legs to gain the edge.
“I’ve had guys that have had average arm strength, and you know, maybe not the greatest athlete in the world, but they’re really smart, and knew where to go with the ball… oftentimes before the ball is even snapped,” head coach Willie Fritz said ahead of last season. “He does an excellent job of that… Physically, he’s gotten a lot bigger. When he came to our place, he was about 180 pounds, now he’s 210-215, 6-foot-3. Runs well, a legit 4.6 [40-yard dash] guy. So physically, he’s got the tools. Then reading coverages and defenses, that’s something that you know, it takes a lot of reps.”
Pratt finished last season with a 63.6% completion rate, 3,010 passing yards, 27 touchdowns and just five interceptions on 338 passing attempts.
The stage is set for Pratt to become a household name among college football fans this year.

Most important thing about the article is the Quarterback room as being one of the most underrated, injuries do happen, and we are well prepared that if Pratt should get injured, we can roll on!!! The Quarterback room is not only talented but very experience now that was not the case before last season. The key for Pratt this season is that a good running game must be happen to keep pressure off of Pratt, He has Keys and Jackson as receivers but one more would not hurt, and a good tight end group helps.

Isn’t Phat Watts back @ WR as a redshirt senior this year?

Would be first Greenie selected 1st round since JP Losman, first time in over 20 years. Only 6th first rounder ever, 3rd in the modern era.

For many of us (30 years old) would be the first time ever experiencing a first-round Wave player. Huge selling point for the program.

This is the first time he's been named an All-State basketball player to my knowledge. Mrs. Horton, you should talk to Coach Hunter.

That's a great video about Pratt, but it also highlights just how well our receiver corp played last season. They made huge strides in 2022.

Latest Quarterback Rankings by Sporting News:
Pratt, Number 24
24. Michael Pratt, Tulane
2022 stats: 3,010 yards, 63.6%, 27 TDs, 5 INTs

Pratt opted to stay in school after leading the Green Wave to a thrilling 46-45 win in the Cotton Bowl Classic last season. Pratt combined efficiency in the passing game with 478 rushing yards and 10 TDs. Pratt's 394-yard, four-TD performance in the American Athletic Championship game was arguably his finest performance. At 6-foot-2, 210 pounds, Pratt is attracting NFL Draft buzz for next season. Quarterbacks coach Slade Nagle was promoted to offensive coordinator in the offseason, and that should lead to similar production in 2023.

22. Frank Harris, UTSA
2022 stats: 4,063 yards, 69.6%, 32 TDs, 9 INTs

Harris has been a hit for most of the last three seasons with Jeff Traylor in UTSA's offense. Harris has 61 TD passes and just 21 interceptions the last three seasons, and he averages 565 rushing yards and eight TDs in that stretch. Harris has led the Roadrunners to back-to-back Conference-USA championships, and his return makes UTSA a legit New Year's Day Six buster.

1/23/23..GOTULA started touting Michael Pratt as one of the top QB’s in the country! Maybe even a dark horse Heisman candidate. Well what do you know! He continues to be nationally mentioned and included as a top QB. GOTULA does it again!

Will be interesting watching Pratt and Harris of San Antonio, in the same conference and playing each other. Will be critical who wins the game between us and them.

2023 Preseason All-America Team ( 1st through 4th team), we know Caleb Williams is lst team, check 2nd-4th Team Quarterbacks.

This is unreal, UTSA dominates preseason AAC lst Team Football Team, with UTSA Quarterback Harris as the lst Team Quarterback with Pratt 2nd Team. We are supposed to be favorite to win the Conference and Pratt promoted as Heisman Candidate but UTSA Harris are getting all the Preseason Recognition. Like I said our game against UTSA will be big and determine alot!!!

He also tied Ernie Davis (Syracuse) for the longest scoring play in Cotton Bowl History. The 87 yard TD should have been 88 as the ball was snapped with the back tip of the ball practically touching the 12 yard hash mark. That would have given him the record outright.

I think UTSA will beat UH on opening weekend...many are going to get their eyes opened by UTSA, & UAB, this season...damn good thing Tulane gets UTSA at home this season

UTSA's Cure Bowl game against Troy was incredibly difficult to watch. Then again, Troy's D was as good as any, and that D coordinator is now ours! But Harris averaged a whopping 4.7 yards/attempt and managed a total of 198 yards passing on 42 attempts.

UAB did not impress me last year at all. So yes, if they're better than I think they are they'll open my eyes. They lost at home to a Rice team that was 2-4 at the time and managed 2 more wins to get to 5 wins.

I'm editing to say that golfnut probably sees more of these teams and thus knows them better than I do. My feelings are based upon bowl games last year when I was paying attention to teams coming into our conference (and those leaving, too!)

UTSA's Cure Bowl game against Troy was incredibly difficult to watch. Then again, Troy's D was as good as any, and that D coordinator is now ours! But Harris averaged a whopping 4.7 yards/attempt and managed a total of 198 yards passing on 42 attempts.

UTSA ranks 115th and UAB 127 (out of 133 FBS schools) in returning production. So if they're going to be as good as some predict, they need players to step up and also work the portal to their advantage.

What I'm also adding, on edit, is that Jeff Traylor seems to be a hell of a football coach. UTSA is his first HC gig after legendary years in HS and about 7 or 8 years as a college assistant. In his 3 years as a HC, he's 30-10, with two conference championships and 3 bowl games. No spring chicken, Traylor turned 55 earlier this month. If the AAC is as much stronger than the recent C-USA as most of us think, this will be a real test for Traylor, who's legend is built on recruiting prowess. I'm curious to see how his team handles this season in the AAC.

In the Sport’s Illustrated list of predictions for the upcoming NFL season, there is this gem:
Tulane will have its first quarterback drafted since J.P. Losman went No. 22 in 2004, and this one will be picked even higher

Michael Pratt can sling it. Take it from the guy who started the Will Levis hype train and hop on before this thing leaves the station.

Have to love Pratt, sending baseball team off to Baton Rouge, imagine he will also be there rooting them on. Seems like the next Drew Brees, supporting local.
