So the season is basically over. We should start to prepare now for the conference tournament. One bid league.winwave wrote: ↑Thu Mar 30, 2023 7:13 pm Tulane's poor performance isn't the only one:

With regard to the demise of AAC baseball programs, I wonder if we're seeing an effect of AAC schools putting almost all their limited G5 resources into football and (to a lesser extent) basketball, in order to get P5 consideration. AAC programs are really the only ones likely to get direct P5 invites, so they are more likely to sacrifice baseball to boost money programs. ECU is also unlikely to get a P5 invite so they would continue to promote baseball and have remained successful.tpstulane wrote: ↑Thu Mar 30, 2023 7:57 pmSo the season is basically over. Only way it will be a two bid league will be if someone other than ECU wins the tourney.tpstulane wrote: ↑Thu Mar 30, 2023 7:57 pmSo the season is basically over. It's not mutually exclusive. All of the AAC schools are making a lot more than they ever had. There's money to go around. It's just cyclical.anEngineer wrote: ↑Thu Mar 30, 2023 10:20 pmWith regard to the demise of AAC baseball programs, I wonder if we're seeing an effect of AAC schools putting almost all their limited G5 resources into football and (to a lesser extent) basketball, in order to get P5 consideration. Sacrificing Baseball Programs for the Football Programs would not put much more money into the Football budgets as AAC schools average spending 1-2 million per year on baseball programs. Not enough money to significantly help the football programs!!! Data of Conferences spending on Baseball including coaches salaries.winwave wrote: ↑Thu Mar 30, 2023 10:36 pmIt's not mutually exclusive. Not sure. I’d be good with one WC trip and the rest Miss, Fla, Ala, Geo, Ark, SC, Tennessee etc. play any 3 game road series with an SEC school and your RPI will be high and you’ll save a few years worth of budget money.golfnut69 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 31, 2023 8:42 amTPS, U hit a sour not with me...why teh fuk are we traveling out west, when "named programs" are within "driving distance"...Hell, UNO came to Austin... make trips to Starkville, Oxford, Fayetteville, Tuscaloosa, Tallahassee... gbg, you do realize the TOTAL TV money is about $7-8 million/year from our AAC deal. So to say that $1-2 million wouldn't make a difference is hardly accurate. And not for nothing but $1-2 million is what the C-USA contract was paying.

What's really cool is if you look at the pitch clock it strikes zero just as the home run hits the screen.
