A day after losing in the ACC tournament, Syracuse announced they are replacing Boeheim with associate HC Adrian Autry.

Boeheim succeeded Roy Danforth as Syracuse head basketball coach, who left Syracuse for Tulane in 1976.

To think there was a time when a head coach would leave a school like Syracuse to become the basketball coach at Tulane.

That’s why we old-timers keep pushing for better days—because we’ve seen better days.

His marriage was in trouble and IIRC his wife was from here so he took the job. Then everyone realized Boheim was the brains.

Danforth's first season was my freshman year. New basketball and football coaches in the same season.

So all the way back in 1976 the HC didn't want to play in the gym. That was before 2,000 seats were removed. Now Hunter has said many times he can out recruit anyone via zoom when they don't have to see our facilities.
