Under Sagarin’s ratings formula playing @ Yulman Tulane is a 2.52 pt. favorite over SMU. https://sagarin.usatoday.com/2022-2/col ... ings-2022/

SMU leads the series 15 wins, to 13 wins. for the Wave. SMU has won the last 7 games. http://www.winsipedia.com/smu/vs/tulane

The last time we beat SMU was on October 13, 2012 at the Dome by the score of 27 to 26, CJ was in his first year as coach. We finished the 2012 season 2-10, SMU was CJ’s first win as head coach. I went to that game, the real attendance count was probably about 3,500, but it was still a lot of fun & a great memory for our last minute win over the ponies.

SMU has won 10 of the last 11 games we have played. We are cursed against this team. They should not be dominating us like this for the last decade. Time to break the curse on Thursday.

We control our destiny; officials be willing, this Thursday we will beat SMU for first time in 10 years.

I cannot recall the exact year... but it was the mid to late 70's...Tulane vs SMU at the Cotton Bowl....if memory serves, Hontas throws a pass which hits the astro turf, bounces right into a SMU DB or LBs hands, he races down the sideline for a TD in front of the Tulane bench...it turned out to be the winning points

We have to prove we can win a big game, period. This is it. Win, and we go into Cincinnati with everything still on the table. We lose, and we're looking at just another season, a bit more successful than previous years, but still just another season.

Is this a special year or not? We find out tonight.

It was another brutal SMU officiating fiasco. That bounced pass happened right in front of where I was sitting. I couldn't fathom how the refs missed the bounce, which was about a yard in front of the SMU DB. Another putrid episode in our history with SMU.
