Players understandably probably didn’t have their mind on the game last night. Sadden by the sudden loss of their coach.
Lee said he had heard rumblings about Jewett’s status, but the players did not find out until their meeting with athletic director Troy Dannen around 4 p.m. Monday.

“It was a very emotional moment for me just because of the love I have for coach Jewett,” he said. “The way he’s treated me and all of us has been incredible, and I owe a lot to him. It (the firing) was unfortunate timing, and we didn’t quite get an answer there. That’s tough.”

Pretty sure that’s what happened. Must be ugly that Jewett wasn’t allowed to say goodbye.
I’m not sure if that’s typical after being somewhere 6 years.

5th straight loss tonight.
Memphis wins the series with a 4-1 win tonight goes for the sweep tomorrow. Wave bats go silent again.

6th straight conference loss.
The last half of the schedule was supposed to be the weakest obviously the team has mailed it in.
Rain expected all day maybe today’s game gets called off.

Tulane wins game 3 11-1. Called in the bottom of the 5 th due to weather. Likely the last time we'll see a slap the wall at Turchin.:

Best game I went to all season. The team just looked so relaxed and played like they had nothing to lose. Maybe it can continue in Clearwater early Tuesday morning vs Cincy.

Yes. Nice group for this year. Last year was 4. They are only good for one year. You have to re-apply and keep good grades.

Every Louisiana player should try for one. The coaches cannot get involved in securing one. They can only recommend a kid and parents try to get one.

They are only for 1 year but in most cases the legislator gives it to them for all 4 years. Our new coach needs to be made aware of them. I've known many over the years that got them and they all got them for 4 years and they weren't rocket scientist. There are friendly legislators out there who are willing to help. There are some legislators in the far reaches of the state that don't have takers for them as it only covers tuition. Our friendly legislators can lean on them for help.
