Got an email this morning from Tulane announcing a new goal for fundraising after reaching their $1.3 billion goal in their latest campaign.
Yes, it’s too late now but boy it’s hard not to think about what kind of athletic program they could have built over the last 40 years had they only committed to doing so.

"Almost four years ago, Tulane University publicly announced the most ambitious fundraising endeavor in its history — Only the Audacious, The campaign for an ever bolder Tulane.

Thanks to unprecedented support from alumni and friends across the globe, the campaign quickly surpassed its record-setting $1.3 billion goal. Now Tulane is setting its sights even higher...

Milestone achievements of the campaign include:

Construction of the $73 million Yulman Stadium..."

How may times can we count Yulman Stadium which broke ground Jan 2013 and opened September 2014? How is that in the past 4 years?

"Building The Commons, a $55 million state-of-the-art dining facility in the heart of the uptown campus that is also a central meeting, studying and gathering place for students and the unified home of the Newcomb Institute."

Did TU get $55 million in donations to build a cafeteria or are was this built with tuition and fees? Did anyone see a donor announcement for the cafeteria? Was it Piccadilly?

Gina Wise (head of development and who sent the email announcement) "got some 'splaning to do", to quote Ricky Ricardo.

This from New Orleans Biz in July 2018:

The year’s record-breaking fundraising total also included large gifts such as $25 million from the family of Dr. John Winton Deming to name the John W. Deming Department of Medicine; a $10 million gift from Tulane alumni Steven and Jann Paul to build the Steven and Jann Paul Hall for Science and Engineering and an anonymous lead gift, along with generous donations from several others, to begin construction on The Commons, the largest Tulane construction project since Yulman Stadium.
