The consideration of Slade Nagle is insane. He's one of the staff members who should have been fired . Only at Tulane:

Slade Nagle as offensive coordinator? Is this some sort of cruel joke that Willie Fritz is playing on Tulane fans? This can’t be real. Slade Nagle wouldn’t be qualified to be offensive coordinator at a Division 3 school. Willie Fritz has completely lost his marbles if you know what I mean.

Further evidence that despite his many years coaching, Willie is a lone wolf in the coaching community, and doesn’t have the relationships or connections one would expect. He’s probably calling Hall asking for some leads.

yeahhhhh. . . that would be a nail in the coffin for me with fritz. When your immediate coaching circle shrinks and is exhausted you need to re evaluate the way you hire.

Well said and absolutely true . Fritz is lost when it comes to recruiting staff and his son is lost when it comes to recruiting young men to play the game .Bicoastalwave wrote: ↑Sat Dec 11, 2021 3:03 am yeahhhhh. . . that would be a nail in the coffin for me with fritz. A veteran of more than 40 years in the coaching ranks, Donn Landholm is in his sixth season as Director of Player Development for the Green Wave in 2021.
Prior to Tulane, Landholm spent three seasons at Tennessee Tech University. He served as the defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach all three seasons for the Golden Eagles.
Before that, he was the defensive coordinator at Purdue in 2009, when the Boilermakers defeated Michigan and Ohio State in the same season for the first time since 1966. He coached the outside linebackers at Purdue for three seasons (2010-12) and was a part of teams that went to back-to-back bowl games in 2011 and 2012. Those defenses included future NFL players Ryan Kerrigan, Kawann Short and Ricardo Allen
He moved to Purdue in 2009 from Eastern Kentucky, where he coached from 1997-2008. Landholm was linebackers coach from 1997 to 2004, defensive coordinator from 2005 to 2007 and linebackers coach and recruiting coordinator in 2008.
In 2005 and 2006, the Colonels ranked among the Ohio Valley Conference’s top three in total defense, allowing 328.5 and 309.0 yards per game. The Colonels led the nation in turnover margin in 2007 at +18, with 35 takeaways (24 interceptions and 11 fumble recoveries).
Landholm also was in charge of the Eastern Kentucky special teams from 2002 to 2007. In 2003, the Colonels led the nation with a 16.5-yard punt return average and, in 2006, they were ninth with a 22.9-yard kickoff return average
From 1993-96, Landholm was the offensive line coach at Blinn (Texas) Junior College. Blinn won back-to-back junior college national championships in 1995 and 1996, going 12-0 both seasons.
He was a defensive assistant at Arizona State from 1987-91, the first two years as a graduate assistant with the defense and the final three as a defensive analyst with the linebackers. The Sun Devils played in the 1987 Freedom Bowl.
Landholm served as the running backs coach at two stops -- Montana State in 1986 and Central Missouri in 1984 and 1985.
Tulane Football is behind the power curve, as usual. It is almost too late to make coaching staff changes and the OC we get will be a 2nd or 3rd choice for most schools. Look for another losing year. How can a whole college athletic department, from the AD on down, be so inept.

That’s an excellent regurgitation of Donn Landholm’s bio. But you could have stopped at “…is in his sixth season as Director of Player Development for the Green Wave in 2021.”—everything else after that doesn’t matter. Given the performance of our OL, WR’s, DB’s, and QB’s over the last six seasons, he shouldn’t still have a job at Tulane—few if any players have “developed”.
Tulane is the University of Louisiana
For the vacant OC position hire an old fart or an up & coming green horn who knows how to recruit and develop o-lineman. We can hire a " passing game" OC for the development of our QB's.
On defense please see if Lionel Washington, or Bob Davie would have any interest in the position. They both can develop solid players and identify talent.
The play of our o-line is what our entire Athletics Department is hinging on.
No o-line. No FBS football.

How did we pass on this one, good solid candidate???
Troy: UAB tight ends coach Joe Craddock will be the new offensive coordinator at Troy, per multiple reports. Craddock formerly served as offensive coordinator at SMU and also previously spent three seasons at Clemson.

Our “esteemed” AD does not have time for Tulane as he thinks he is a big wig for serving on the NCAA constitution committee. Forget those pesky and annoying things like fundraising and hiring competent coaches. Only the audacious! Only at Tulane!

I wonder if rich rod and willie have spoken. . . Would we want him ? Good reasons in favor of and against

Be a Hero Today.... Adopt a Shelter Pet... The Beatles once sang "Can't Buy Me Love"... I disagree, unconditional Love can be bought, for the nominal adoption fee at your local Pet Shelter !
what about the senior "O" analyst from Clemson....what's his name...oh yeah, J.P Losman

Only plausible explanation for silence ? We have our man but he's still coaching in a bowl game , will be announced in due course ....

Any news on an oc pick? I was all for giving Fritz time but the search process seems to be dragging on. I hope Fritz knows what he is doing. We have seen a lot of schools hire new offensive coordinators, which makes me worry that the potential pool of qualified candidates has significantly shrunk. Fritz has to make a good hire for oc or else we will be in big time trouble especially after he botched both the oc and dc hires last year.

Maybe nobody worth a damn wants to play for the Man From Blink, coming off 2-10 . What does coming to Tulane do for anyone’s resume?

Helen Keller is interviewing today. If Cowdick comes back we may offer CJ.
