Yep
Arnie Fielkow's blueprint for success for Tulane Athletics
Benson, even made the coment "We're a Texas team now"... but per Lee Corso..."no so fast my friends"...as if Jerry Jones was going to allow that to happen...would not be surprised if there is more cowboy krap bought in SA than in DFW
Be a Hero Today.... Adopt a Shelter Pet... The Beatles once sang "Can't Buy Me Love"... I disagree, unconditional Love can be bought, for the nominal adoption fee at your local Pet Shelter !

Man Benson really was a ruthless businessman (or scumbag depending on how you look at it.) This article details his dance with moving the team after Katrina and firing Arnie - https://deadspin.com/saints-build-statu ... 1630119285

Careful what you say . Mrs Benson continues on our Board , continues to allow us to use the saints facilities and continues to write checks .
Think what you want but bite your tongue .

President Fitts , B of A , it's put up or forever hold your peace time . Make Tulane ATHLETICS relevant and top 30 again .

I guess that's why Arnie never got to first base on his application for Tulane's AD position.
Tulane is the University of Louisiana
Great article. I had forgotten most of those shenanigans he tried to pull. In the end he got the greatest stadium deal ever given for a pro franchise.Bicoastalwave wrote: ↑Wed Jul 21, 2021 12:40 pm Man Benson really was a ruthless businessman (or scumbag depending on how you look at it.) Remember when Benson was booed out of Tiger Stadium when the Saints were playing there in 2005? He was furious and said he wouldn't return.tpstulane wrote: ↑Wed Jul 21, 2021 3:45 pmGreat article. Man... this seems so recent and yet it would probably shock a lot of college age players to learn that the Saints played at LSU for several games.
.not too bad for someone who could not afford to buy the Saints...the State of Louisiana "loaned' him the money he was short, which I think is 16.5 million $$.... When the saints went up for sale the State of Louisiana, wanted to buy the Saints and operate the franchise in the same manner as the GB Packers, which is pubicily owned by the citizens of wisconsin...the NFL, knowing the rep of elected state officials, said no way in hell is that going to happen...GreenLantern wrote: ↑Wed Jul 21, 2021 4:01 pmRemember when Benson was booed out of Tiger Stadium when the Saints were playing there in 2005?
