Dr. Anthony Fauci said during a CNN interview on Monday that as several new variants of the coronavirus are circulating throughout the world, he is concerned that one in particular could cause those who have already been infected to be sickened again.

Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said that a coronavirus variant first discovered in South Africa could be causing reinfections.

"If it becomes dominant, the experience of our colleagues in South Africa indicate that, even if you've been infected with the original virus, that there is a very high rate of reinfection to the point where a previous infection does not seem to protect you against reinfection,” Fauci said on Monday.

That's very small sample size to draw definitive conclusions from. The article ends with saying it varies person to person. Not confidence inspiring:

"The new study isn’t perfect. It would have been better to collect multiple blood samples from every participant. “Immunity varies from person to person, and uncommon individuals with weak immune memory still may be susceptible to reinfection,” Crotty cautions. And we can’t make any firm conclusions about covid-19 immunity until years have passed—it’s simply too early. Nonetheless, this latest result is a good indication that if the vaccination rollout goes well (a big if), we might soon be able to put the pandemic behind us.'

I specifically included the part where they said that's what they're hoping. The point being, its far from "inaccurate". Its more science than just riding bareback on whatever "Dr Fauci" decides to say this week. There's no data showing sizeable numbers of reinfections. Just because he "says so" doesn't make it true, especially when he's changed his tune a dozen times in the past ten months.

Breakthrough therapy? (No, it's not hydroxychloroquine) In a Phase 1 trial at Tel Aviv’s Ichilov Medical Center, EXO-C24 showed that it could cure 29 out of 30 recipients within 3-5 days. This could save tens of thousands of lives.

I think Fauci is in the early stages of dementia. He’s desperately trying to extend his “15 minutes”. Recently, he’s been saying something everyday, but I think fewer and fewer people are paying any attention to his ramblings. A classic case of someone hanging around way too long. Time to hang’em up.

Whatever happened to that big spike in Tuscaloosa after that super-spreading championship celebration? Did they all die but the media has kept it under wrap?

EVERYTHING has changed now that there is no need to beat Trump over the head everyday. Fauci is reported to be the highest paid Federal employee going back to pre-COVID time. When Fauci would say something contrary to Trump as President, the media would keep Fauci in the news for at least a week on that one statement. Once Biden was named President-elect, Fauci's usefulness was less relevant and he might say something to make Biden look bad. He still wants to seem like he's earning the money, so he has to talk more often now. Now that Democrats are in power, media is in sync with them and they could not care less about Fauci.

Lawrence Brooks, the 111 year-old New Orleanian who is the oldest surviving WWII veteran, happily received his COVID vaccination today. Mr. Brooks once again shared his advice on how to live a long and healthy life: “Serve God and be nice to people.” Thank you sir for your service to our country. Wow! Just wow... I suppose that if her condition worsens and she is placed on a ventilator, that will make your entire month.

Not wishing her bad health I just think its Karma that she tested positive after
preaching wearing a mask 😷 and closing bars for a week.
Remember everyone made fun of Trump when he got it for not wearing a mask. You either getting it or not. End of story.

Totally false, spreading of false information is so damaging, some seem to get their rocks off by spreading unsubstantiated news. Facts by experts earliest will be late summer or Fall, Normalcy by the end of the year. Variants have not taken over yet, vaccine not as effective and may need a third booster if variants continue changing. Worse could be coming to some. We will all see, but don't jump the gun on speculation.

President Joe Biden's coronavirus advisory team Chief Medical Adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci changes his prediction again by saying that the United States may not reach herd immunity "by Thanksgiving," which comes later than previously stated.
The Beast explained that Fauci is "cautiously optimistic" of achieving the target come Fall this year and "still think that it is possible" because of the new variants of COVID-19 that have now been detected in the country.

Fauci reinforced this last Monday during a press conference stating that the B117 variant--the one spotted from the United Kingdom--as a "sobering news" since it ""could become dominant by the end of March."

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson made yet another somber coronavirus-related address to the nation: A COVID-19 variant first identified in Kent, England, was thought to be between 50%-70% more infectious. In a little over a week, hospital admissions had increased by nearly a third. Deaths had risen by 20%. Johnson ordered the country's third full national lockdown since the start of the pandemic

'Like wildfire': B.1.1.7 may soon dominate across the US
American public health officials will be watching what Johnson says closely, not least because the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) believes that by as early as the end of next month B.1.1.7, the more transmissible COVID-19 variant originally identified in Britain in September, is likely to be the dominant one circulating within U.S. borders.
