Howard probably on short leash if not better next week. South Ala lost with Tulane move at the end. Not excited but they found a way to win and wear the other team down at the very end. We used to lose that way. Winning that way isn't fun but its better.

wipes off the rust? those were terrible throws. the receivers were just that wide open
LOL. he made some nice throws.
Announcers called his "best pass" a "rainbow throw"
That's their problem. He made some nice throws. If you can't see that it's on you.

Great comeback win. Never saw it happening
Fritz will not change the QB.

winwave wrote: Sat Sep 12, 2020 10:11 pm It's a win. On the road. We'll take it. Losing the SELA game hurt. It's why you open with that type of team. You usually see the biggest improvement game one to game two. We hung in there and got better. Howard found his rhythm. Anybody that thinks we can just line up and run it against teams worth beating is kidding themselves. The D got better. Big confidence builder for the team. All is not lost.

Hullabaloo!
Yeah our o-line is still subpar. We need Spears and Jones in the backfield to make their own holes as well as Hall’s schemes. This o-line won’t dominant.

Whew, the better team won but we didn’t come to play until the second half. USA was sky high and ready to play from the first down.

Second half our D-line really turned it on and took control of the game.😀

I quit watching around halftime as I was sitting down for dinner. Finished and the masochist in me figured I'd check the score one last time. 1:30 left in the fourth, tulane up 3, we punt and USA gets a personal foul, we kneel out a win. WTF happened?!?!?!?

Thank God their coach went into his 4 corners offense too early.

We came from down 24-6 halfway through the third quarter on the road to win 27-24. Man, it was ugly for the first 40 minutes.

Our d-line started to dominant when the coverage improved. They couldn’t score after that.

Our coverage improved once we put Monroe on Tolbert.

One of their punt rushers tried to leap over the wall in front of punter and got called for 15 yard penalty which was automatic first down.

Either we improve a lot, or get smoked in conference play. The usual watch for 2 1/2 quarters and play for 1 1/2 quarters will get us 5 losses
per 6 games again in AAC play.

Either DL needs to play well throughout game or DBs need to get better quick.

Well we dominated FIU last season and still ended up 6-6. This team including Howard has room to improve. I'm not panicking over this performance.

Midway into the 3rd quarter we finally shut down their passing game, our D-line began to dominate their O-line, Spears & Jones started finding some holes and Howard‘s passing was just good enough to beat this team. :D :)

We need to remind ourselves the following:

1. your biggest improvement is always the 2nd game
2, USA had a game under their belts, we did not

Never quit attitude. We needed this win. Howard improved throughout the game and that’s a big reason we were able to get the W.
Navy is going to be ready to play this time. Their coach didn’t allow them to tackle during Fall practice trying to limit contact because of Covid. So their first game blowout loss may be miss-leading.

The other good thing with a win like this is that the team will never give up because they know they can come back and win. That never used to be the case.

247’s Team Talent Composite has Tulane’s roster at #77 and South Alabama’s at #111.
I guess their coaching ratings are somewhat higher.
Three year recruiting ratings for South Alabama: National Rank
126

Next Year: 108

Give it up Pratt will not play this year his passing has been very erratic in Practice, ,maybe Ibieta not Pratt.

Actually Pratt is the number two now. That could change over time. Pratt played against the highest competition in Florida versus Ibieta playing low level competition

Lot of people in this thread haven’t played football before and it shows.

Good win. No tune up game. One scrimmage TWO WEEKS BEFORE THE GAME. New starting QB. Opponent had a game already. They played a different QB. On the road. Opening a new stadium. Use your brain. This game went almost how it should’ve. One was sharp, one wasn’t.
