With classes starting today, Fogleman will be a rockin' joint tomorrow night.
I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I only predicted four conference wins this year. We may equal that number by Saturday's Tulsa game. #RollWave

We are favored by one.

If ever we needed a sellout this is the game .
Pivotal to a conference record turnaround .
With only two days of classes no "studying " excuses for our students tonight .
This team has earned our support and a raucous home court advantage .
Local fans , do your part .
It would be great to see all of our FB Coaches there , too .

This is a bad basketball product. There are no offensive sets and nobody has experience playing together so it looks like an AAU pickup game.
Lucky the place was less than half filled.nawlinspete wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2020 7:45 am If ever we needed a sellout this is the game .

Be proactive, being reactive is for losers..

UCF shot lights up and we couldn’t hit the side of a barn. Bad week for Wave fans continues and LSU stole one at Texas A&M in OT to go 4-0 in the SEC

Read their press clippings too much. Very disappointing start to this important stretch.

Interesting fact. Over the years just about every visiting team that comes in loves to shoot in Devlin. It’s one of those rare places today that’s a shooters paradise with its small intimate background. There’s no problem with depth perception like other facilities. Too bad the Wave missed out on a chance to remain unbeaten at home.

Be a Hero Today.... Adopt a Shelter Pet... The Beatles once sang "Can't Buy Me Love"... I disagree, unconditional Love can be bought, for the nominal adoption fee at your local Pet Shelter !

Anyone see Coach Hunter's post-game presser? He talked about warning the kids about dealing with success and said he could see the poor attitude in shootaround. A reporter asked him about it and he said he actually kicked a player out of shootaround that day. He talked about learning how to win, regardless of talent. That would kind of explain Hunter's demeanor during the game. He seemed more accepting of what was happening he had in past games. He apparently decided that this was a teachable moment and an important step in the development of the program. He mentioned that 0-4 UCF team was desperate for a win and played like it. Most teams in this situation would come out on a tear Saturday and rip into Tulsa. We will see.
Andrew Allegretta mentioned that he thought 3 road games in 13 days kind of took their legs out. There could be something to that.

Coach Hunter mentioned it in pre-game interview with Andrew as well. Shows that Coach has experience with these kinds of situations and how to deal with them. Now the team knows he was right, and they'll pay more attention next time. You hope.anEngineer wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 7:40 am Anyone see Coach Hunter's post-game presser? "That mantra is the only consistent thing that never needs to ever change for the rest of this program’s existence because that is all that matters & as long as that keeps occurring, everything will handle itself" -- Nick Anderson

Unfortunately, we've seen this scenario play out many times at Tulane:
- Team (insert sport name here) begins to experience some success after a couple exciting wins over tough opponents
- Media and non-typical Tulane followers beginning to hear about the program's success
- We enjoy brief moments of press coverage regarding our reawakening
- Important home game with a chance to make a statement and endear the team to the students and non-typical fans
- Then....flop...buzzkill

On tv it was so strange, you could see fans in the gym but it sounded empty and you could hear the echos.

It sounded empty because there was very little to cheer about. There was one point about 4 minutes into the second half where Tulane had like a 6-0 run and got to within 12. It looked like they might be ready to make a move and UCF called a timeout. It got a little loud then, but UCF scored like 6-8 straight and that was the end of it.Bicoastalwave wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 12:07 pm On tv it was so strange, you could see fans in the gym but it sounded empty and you could hear the echos.
