LSU and EVERY team in the country has some recruits that are not 4 or 5 star recruits. And bringing this up does ZERO to help our recruiting. NOTHING.
But Ed O, who has changed his lifestyle (I know this for a fact) may not in some people's minds be HC material, but he's on the verge of winning an ESPN Invitational which will give him a job as long as he wants one.

Give me two of whatever you're taking.
He was there for the taking. In 2016 Lowly DL coach & recruiting coordinator.
The 2013 USC team had a full fledged player rebellion for not retaining him after interim HC status.

Show me a recruiting class for ANY program in the country that's entirely 4 and 5 star recruits. There aren't any. There's only 150 4 star recruits and roughly 80 5 star recruits. Recruiting classes are generally 20-25 each year, and there's 60 P5 teams that get a vast, vast majority of 4 and 5 star recruits. About 8-10 go to a G5. Do the math. That's what I'm taking.

Ed Orgeron could've made nine phone calls within three hours and have put together a staff of premier young coaches who would have killed to take part in his program..DfromCT wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2019 1:14 pmShow me a recruiting class for ANY program in the country that's entirely 4 and 5 star recruits. Numbers are numbers, stars are stars. Talent identification and development only comes into play with the ability to sell a dream and persuade a prospect to commit.

LSU is competing with Clemson & Alabama for national recruits.
Perhaps Ed will be kind and throw one or two in our direction.

What is this thread and why does it continue and exist ? How about we just discuss in the recruiting thread.

After being spurned by USC & taking a year off, Coach O found himself as a D line coach on Les Miles' staff in 2015 & 2016. But he was too much of an idiot cajun bumpkin to ever be a head coach again.
I’ll always remember Coach O trying to steal our players after we got totaled out by Katrina while he was HC at Ole Miss. Slimy as you can get.
After Hurricane Katrina he tried to poach our best players for Ole Miss from Tulane. Greg Davis Jr turned him in. Nothing ever came of it after Orgeron pretended he didn’t know it was a violation.
Tulane coaches were quoted as saying of Orgeron, "there's people in our business who do not belong in our business".
He also was recruiting coordinator at USC when Reggie Bush’s family got $100,000.
While at Tennessee all the sudden - Orgeron having only been there a year - six NCAA violations for the Vols.
Finally, after leaving Tennessee, Orgeron called early recruits at Tennessee, trying to recruit them to USC…after they were already enrolled at Tennessee. Had he forgotten the rules he had already learned after his own Tulane scandal?
With that all said he’s perfect match for LSU.

He's now the favorite to win the ESPN Invitational, which would give him a job in the P5's for as long as he cares to work. Much like our basketball coach, he says some things that make you cringe. But you are what your record says you are. He's undefeated playing in the SEC this year.wave97 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2019 10:25 amBicoastalwave wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2019 9:40 pm "What is this thread and why does it continue and exist ? And trust me, I'm NOT an LSU fan by any stretch of the imagination. But I kind of like the cajun bumkin pumpkin, he's amusing! But I will root for either Clemson or OSU to win the ESPN Invitational.
