A re-match with FIU in the Frisco Bowl? Please don't tell me Michael Aresco would do that to us?

I think it might be good for the AAC to match us up in Birmingham with a mid-tier ACC school. Could be an opportunity to show that the AAC is strong throughout, and not just a couple of top teams.

I wouldn't make the trip to TX for the Frisco bowl.
In Birmingham vs, Florida St. would be a 99% yes.

I like B'ham because of the 'late play date'.... I like Frisco, becasue it is only 180 miles away, and the resturants are great..and if I were still single, the women are gorgeousNOLABigSteve wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2019 1:35 pm I wouldn't make the trip to TX for the Frisco bowl.

Be a Hero Today.... Adopt a Shelter Pet... The Beatles once sang "Can't Buy Me Love"... I disagree, unconditional Love can be bought, for the nominal adoption fee at your local Pet Shelter !

I really hope it’s not an FIU rematch. That would be nothing to get excited about.
Agree. Even worse it could be our worst nightmare if we lose. It would really put serious question marks around the program.greenphantom wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2019 8:44 pm I really hope it’s not an FIU rematch. That would be nothing to get excited about.

I could do that matchup. Blake Baker (former LB back from when I played) is the DC over there.Wave755 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2019 9:02 am CBS Sports now has us playing Miami in the Birmingham Bowl! https://mweb.cbssports.com/ncaaf/bowls/predictions

Miami still has a name, Liberty or Arkansas State never will. Beating Miami, even in its diminished state, will help our program. The same is true this year for Florida State. And, a great way to welcome in 2020!NOLABigSteve wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2019 10:05 amI could do that matchup. For its “final” bowl projections 247 still has us playing Florida State in the Birmingham Bowl.. https://www.google.com/amp/s/247sports. ... 20826/Amp/
Damn that would be great, and would serve as well to help us hang on to our recruiting class.

The ACC decides which teams they send to particular bowl games. They don't decide the opponent in those games. Just as the AAC doesn't decide the opponents in the bowl games they have tie-ins. If the ACC thinks FSU or Miami is one of their weaker bowl eligible teams, they'll end up in the Birmingham Bowl.

Yes! Time for revenge for the 5th down play that gave Miami a W years ago at their pace. Also, FIU just beat the Hurricanes this year. Great way to end 7-6.Wave755 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2019 9:02 am CBS Sports now has us playing Miami in the Birmingham Bowl! https://mweb.cbssports.com/ncaaf/bowls/predictions

Let's hope CFN & 247 know what they are talking about for bowl selection?
