For sure. The only way we lose alot of these commits is if we stink it up this year. We MUST win.

No doubt. We have to capitalize on the momentum and the media coverage we have been getting . That starts with beating FIU. If we can't make a very noticeable jump this year with all we have going for us then HS coaches , players and the media will believe we can't ever get it done. No pressure. :D

Exactly. By the time signing day gets here, the season will be over and if we're going to a bowl, they'll know where we're going. If we stunk it up, they'll know early on in the year and some willl flip wlsewhere.

Another huge get. He’s the 3-4 highest rated guy in our class. Everyone of our OL recruits has P5 offers. Event if we lose a couple we’ll have a monster class. Even if we lose a couple we have so much momentum I think we can replace them with comparable guys

This early commitment thing is really strange. Very few schools have that many and they are all P5s where kids would not figure it possible to get a better offer. You want to think that Willie Fritz and staff are selling something that is really appealing and this program is about to take a quantum leap. Being a Tulane fan, it's hard to take the bait. We can't be certain about these recruits until December, but it's not likely to lose more than one or two. A good season on the field could really solidify it and start an exciting era in Tulane football.

“Family” . These recruits throw that word out there a lot. The staff and current players have done an amazing job creating that kind of atmosphere. I don’t believe it’s lip service .

I agree. It's hard to imagine we will keep ALL of these kids, but it's obvious that Coach Fritz and his staff are selling something that is very appealing.

I'm sure there's at least a few kids on here that we'll lose if a P5 offer comes along. Especially if its a better P5 program. We'll see.

I did also notice over the weekend that 247 adjusted the composite ratings on a few of our recruits, A few went up, a few went down. Overall average went up, which surprised me. Ones of note: Ethan Barr went from .7998 to .8248, the QB Pratt went from .8381 to .8417, Champaigne went from .8099 to .8236. Levant went down from .8420 to .8223, Rashad Green from .8590 to .8477.

Naturean went up from .8000 to .8167, while Natorian went down from .8200 to .8156. Makes you wonder if they really know which twin is which? lol

Anyway, I'll put up a list when I have a chance of the original composite scores so we have a reference over the course of the season to see any changes.

Green means P5s are still actively trying to get them, red means they are not. There is no doubt the ratings are driven by what the P5s want. This compilation does show the quality of the early commit class.

Great work. Supposedly, the change is just the result of a re-rank of the players, but, because there are so many players available, it would be difficult for a random person to reasonably track enough players over time in order to reasonably verify the validity of the changes.

GREAT point, Zombie! With a few thousand recruits every year, a whole lot of the rankings are solely based upon who's offering and what offers the recruits are selecting and have ZERO to do with anything that happens on the field. That's one of many reasons the recruiting rankings are mostly BS.

That being said, it's nice to have some great commitments, and hope to keep the quality of this class through signing day.

Any re-ranking has to be even more bogus than the original rankings. None of these players has played a down since the original rankings. The rating outfits are just playing with themselves.

Remember, this is the 247 COMPOSITE ranking. Its possible most of the changes came because one or more services didn't have a player rated previously, and the rating came in higher or lower than the composite was.

Sometimes the most likely reason is the correct one.

Also, the main reason I made this list is so we have some reference as the season progresses and we get closer to signing date, we can see how they move.

In looking at the 247 Sports site, I noticed that UConn has 9 commits, all 3 stars. You really have to wonder what's motivating these kids. None are from the area, which might lead them to stay close to home. Assuming they do sign with UConn, none have any idea what the football situation will be in 2020. There's a fair chance that they won't be playing Division 1 by senior year. As an independent (not Notre Dame or BYU) you aren't competing for anything. Maybe they are kids who just want to be at UConn? It has to be a tough sell.

I don't think UConn is looking to drop out of FBS football. But I totally agree with all the uncertainty it's got to be a very tough sell.

Didn't an independent not named ND or BYU take the #4 team in the country to OT and dropped 70 points on UH in their bowl game last year? It's a tough road, but not impossible.

I bet a lot of our 2020 commits are feeling pretty good about their decision after last night’s blowout of FIU.

I would certainly hope so. This could be a magical season that turns into a recruiting bonanza.

so far it looks like "None" U and "TOTO" have done an excellent job

We've got two on that list and both are ranked highly not only in state but in the country as well. Fritz and staff have been stepping up the recruiting.

Perfect situation for those recruits. Either a downgrade or a cancellation of the football program is a plus for them and their academic pursuits.
