I'm working on some content for the blog, and I know this has been done before in some form or fashion., so I figured I'd take the top answers from your responses and turn them into a series of blog posts. So, in your opinion, give me a list of some of the top moments in Tulane Athletics history. Off the top of my head:

- 1998 Football Undefeated Season
- Tulane back in the NCAA's under Perry Clark. / The Posse

Please keep your suggestions and responses in list form if you have any. If you have anecdotes or wish to contribute to the blog regarding a particular moment, hit me up.

Thanks!

TD catch by Darwin Willie to begin the beating of LSU after 25 years.
Bynums' long run to set up the final TD to seal that win.
Beating LSU in 1979 with our most talented team in modern times.
Reginelli catching the screen pass and sewing up the win in BR to win the
Revenge Bowl
Beating LSU 48-7
Foley to Foley to Foley
Winning our first game in the NCAA Basketball tourney
Sparks HR at Zephr to beat LSU
Winning the Super Regional at Zephyr vs. LSU
Winning the SR vs. Rice at Turchin

Many more but in a rush. Got to go coach.

Be a Hero Today.... Adopt a Shelter Pet... The Beatles once sang "Can't Buy Me Love"... I disagree, unconditional Love can be bought, for the nominal adoption fee at your local Pet Shelter !

Also if there is concrete info , a serious discussion of our turning down our first Rose Bowl invite ,

Serious discussion of deemphasis in 1950 ,

Of leaving SEC in 1966

And of abandonment of Tulane Stadium in 1976 ,

And of how and why the B of A tolerated (applauded) cow dick for 18 years.

These issues define us from what we had in the 20`s , 30`s and 40`s to what we have become now .

From my standpoint, the 48-7 win in the Superdome followed by the 31-28 win in Baton Rouge. That's my Thanksgiving Freshman and Sophomore years!

But we cannot forget the Wave rolling into Red Stick and blowing away Dale Brown's Tigers in the first round of the NIT in 1982. My best friend and roommate and stormed the Marovich center as the clock ticked down telling LSU fans "Dale Brown Sucks" after he dropped Tulane from the schedule because he admitted that Tulane would gain more from beating LSU than LSU would gain from beating Tulane! So one of the "Tulane Moments" has to be the basketball victory in 1982 in Baton Rouge. Another happened a few days later in Las Vegas.

And it was in Las Vegas that the team got a standing ovation as they walked through the casino of their hotel--later finding out that they had been one of the best teams in the country at beating their spread--we know where that later led

Other memorable moments:

Gerald Honeycutt's freak, last second, three point circus shot from the corner to beat [help, I can't remember].

Daryl Moreau's last second winning jump shot to beat a highly ranked, Keith Lee-led, Memphis team. I think that was the same team that beat Dale Brown's LSU team in the NIT game in BR.

Beating Cincinnati's Bob Miller and Gary Yoder-led #3 ranked basketball team in the Superdome, in 1977?

Beating Ole Miss, and winning the first regular season football game, pro or college, ever played in the Superdome.

Beating the Georgia Bulldogs in 1972, at Tulane Stadium, on ABC's Regional Game of The Week. It was an early afternoon game, and brutally hot, especially since we had to wear dress shirts and ties to all the games.

Beating Florida State in the Superdome, in 1983. Notwithstanding the fact that the NCAA later forced us to forfeit the win because of the English-clan shenanigans.

Taking two very good North Carolina basketball teams into quadruple overtime--even though we didn't win.

2) Tulane fires NBA former coach of the year, Mike Dunleavy as basketball coach.

It was against Florida State

No doubt that NIT game needs to be in there. I was there. LSU had cut the series off . NIT pairs us up. We shut Howard" Hi C " Carter off. Afterwards the dumb ass says about our box and one defense that they played some freak defense. So much fun walking out of there saying very loudly" Now we now why they didn't want to play us anymore".

You'd have to include the Liberty Bowl victory to cap off the 1998 season. Actually that entire season fits, but the bowl victory under the guidance of RR was sweet, and made for a great New Year's Eve!

Mens Hoops beating a ranked UNO team in 1991 in one of the most exciting games I have ever witnessed.
Mens Hoops against USM in 1992 on ESPN. Back then being on ESPN was something special. I camped out for tickets. Place was packed. Jimmy V was doing color and loved it.
1998 Football Season..so many moments
Both baseball Super Regional Wins. Such drama in both.
