We will have a solid rotation up front. When was the last time that happened at Tulane?. The question is, do we have the ability to credibly show cover 1 & 0 from the back 5/6? If that's a "yes", we will be able to hide our intentions on defense until after the ball is snapped.
If the new OC (QB) & OL coaches can get their guys up and running this may have the makings for an interesting season.

Auburn will be tough. They're D=line is better than ours. It actually might approach being as good as Clemson's was last season. For those of you keeping score, Clemson had 3 D-Linemen picked in the first round. Auburn has 3 that could have been in the first three rounds but they decided to come back. It's by far the strength of their team.

For those that keep harping that Army is overrated, look at the scoreboard. For the second year in a row, the Black Knights of the Hudson have taken a top 10 team into overtime. I'd be happy as hell to be this competitive at 6:30 CDT.

Agreed. I'll be happy if we're tied with Army at the end of regulation, considering we play them at West Point.

They are better than what they were in the past but they are overrated. First off Michigan is overrated. More importantly they once again played a team that wasn't up for them and doesn't know how to deal with their offense. They lost again in that situation. They beat no one last year. They are not a push over but they are certainly not a team we should we fear.

Yeah I think we’ll be fine against Army. Too much team speed for the cadets.

I think I know why people have been picking SMU so highly this season. They have 16 transfers on their roster, so they're not at all the team they were last year. We'll see.

If someone told me they could guarantee 10-3, and the only two remaining losses were to UCF twice (AACCG), and then a bowl win, I'd take it right now.

I originally picked 7 regular season wins. I'm no predicting 9.

One game at a time. IF/WHEN we put it all together we could beat any team on the schedule. But we're still playing like any team not named UConn could beat us. Put it together by the start of November and double digit victories is well within reach. But again, one game at a time.

I picked 6 wins and have upped my prediction to 7-5.

Assuming that we win the UConn game and go 5-1. Take a look at the remaining schedule: Memphis, Navy, Tulsa, Temple, UCF, and SMU. Where are the sure wins? Perhaps Navy. With a few injuries and bad bounces, we could easily be 1-5 in this stretch. Continue to improve weekly, eliminate penalties and bonehead mistakes, and we could finish at 5-1 and 10-2 for the season. It will be a fun ride. .

12-1

I feel just as confident in 12-1 as I do about dropping a random game to Navy or Temple. I truly believe the offense is only getting better and we can go Toe to Toe with Memphis, UCF and SMU. . . Or anyone not in the CFP.

I know we are down on UCF but Bill Connelly said the analytics show that UCF is still amazing, they just lost two toss up games they have won the last few seasons.

I hope you are wrong as well, but for now, you are in line to have made the best pre season record prediction of all time Green Wave football. I am feeling great at Thisbe point because I literally begged for Fritz hiring. I knew that bringing in an old school triple option/run ‘n’ fun guy would be perfect for Tulane. I am telling Winwave, we will never win less that 7 games as long as he is here. 7-5 seasons will be considered a result of a rebuilding year. We will not lose to random G5 programs anymore. Our football program has finally reached another level. You must a top 3 G5 conference contender in order to have a shot at beating us. All mid ranked G5 conference programs will receive beatdowns from the Wave.
