Don't we have a "Boys of Summer" or some other such thread that these three threads can be merged into?

At his age, and with ZERO to gain, I wouldn't let him air it out often. Rushing back from TJ surgery is never anything good. Maybe he can hit the mid 90's and hasn't aired it out, who knows. But I know if I were his parent, and he has serious baseball aspirations, I'd hold him back and let him throw 75-80% until he's pitching on a mound in a game that means something.

For a pitcher the rehab period can take as long as 2 years. Randy Leblanc had TJ in his freshman season and it wasn’t until his senior year that he was back to 100%
The 87.1 although not breaking news, I felt it was news worthy to show the progress this kid is making after spending his entire freshman season rehabbing so he can help the team next year. If you talk to anyone who has had TJ they will tell you that the rehab is a long grueling process
So let’s give Forrest a shoutout
Keep working young man
Looking forward to seeing you this fall

Nothing wrong with being cautious but I think waiting until you face a meaningful hitter to go 100% is a recipe for not being successful.

As for his velocity, perfect game saw him in 2016 and his hardest fastball was 84.
