That means his BA is higher than Francisco Lindor's at a tiny fraction of the cost! Catchers with his ability stick around the majors hitting .200 for many years. Sure, he might see some more time in the minors if he still has options, but once he runs out of options and has to clear waivers to be sent down, he'll stick. Might be a journeyman if he doesn't hit, but he'll have a mlb job. If he hits .250 he's a starter.

Drives in three Tuesday
June 22, 2021
Rogers went 2-for-4 with a double, a triple, a run scored and three RBI in Tuesday's win over the Cardinals.

ANALYSIS
Rogers was productive from the No. 9 spot in the batting order, and it looks like he's taking over as the primary catcher in Detroit, as this was his third start in a row. Eric Haase remains in the picture, but Rogers is considered the better defensive player and he's also two years younger, so the Tigers may be inclined to keep rolling him out there.

Also threw out a runner trying to steal when ESPN cut in for a live look. The replay showed the runner got his hand under the tag, but the ball beat him and the Rangers didn't challenge. Detroit let go of their veteran catcher, Wilson Ramos, who they signed this past off season. A large part of their decision was Jake showing his meddle.

Hate to be this guy, but nuns pounded spelling and punctuation into me. It’s mettle. Don’t feel bad, it’s a common mistake like lose and loose or there and their.

At first I thought you were referring to my use of "their"!

You are right, sir, I stand corrected. When I posted I wondered which way to spell mettle, Spell check didn't correct it, so I stayed with it. But you are absolutely right, I used the wrong word. I now realize, looking at the post, that meddle is something winwave does in everyone else's business!

What's funny is that I caught it right away but I knew what the reaction would be if I pointed it out. But yet again you show your obsession with me.
