Make no mistake, this urgency is significant for the 2016 Bears. Johnson's arrival, after a four-season stint as Tulane's head coach, puts him in a rare position of power. If the Bears truly are going to become a playoff contender again, two of their most pivotal players will evolve under Johnson's watch.

That's what he's good at so the Bears should have a good season.

OK, I just had to share this. Jeff Duncan's tweet during the LSU-Wisconsin game. Did I miss CJ joining the LSU staff>

Jeff Duncan ‏@JeffDuncan_ 2h2 hours ago
LSU had nine players on the field on that last punt. Nine.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him back in NOLA filling a spot on Sean Payton's staff once again.

Man. CJ really ruined a great day vs Georgia Tech. He ruined a great season vs Tulsa that same year. A 2-0 start that year would have done wonders to our program and Yulman Stadium. Now, we are back to square one.

Anyway, I hope he ends up back with the Saints, but I did hear some LSU talk as well.

This resolution from the Tulane Athletic Council:

"Whereas, for reasons considered sufficient by the Council, it is desirable that a change be made as to the Football Coaching System of Tulane University. It is the Council's resolve, that a competent Football Coach be employed to take full charge of the Football team and program."

this was not the resolution for CJ's firing, but of a Coach who never had a losing season, won a Sugar Bowl, had just finished the following season at 6-4....my, how times have changed on Willow St... if the "TAC" of day was still around, CJ would never have been allowed on Campus !!!!

As a Saints fan I'm glad he's back. That's what he's good at.

EXACTLY!

He's back where he should never have left. I don't begrudge him taking advantage of the opportunity, and do think he's a good man. He should have put everything he made above his NFL assistant's salaries into retirement and college planning for his kids. If he did, I'm sure he's financially secure for life. If not, he wasted Mr. Benson's gesture. Remember, not only did he get a significant raise after his first season, he also got bought out of his contract.

This will just give CJ free time to have a yard sale, sell the house and move to north Dallas where he will reunite with Payton on the Cowboys staff

Great. I thought Sean Payton would give him a second shot. Wow he’s making former Tulane OC Eric Price his OC for Houston.
