Those poor poor fools. This is our chance to jump to the top half of the conference. Temple is in trouble, USF isn't doing anything, Tulsa had a dream season and now has tricky dick and will regress, ECU hasn't regained form. Navy stumbled. If we aren't in the top half/top 1/3 of the league after this season any criticism is fair.

I'll give Tulsa a year or two and then forward the name of the aviation service we all chipped in to contract for the 'Fire Rick Dickson' banner on Homecoming Day in Yulman. Perhaps we can get a referral fee. I remember that really pissed off the folks on the yoggie site. I don't know if they were angry that we spoke out against Dickson, if it was due to the fact that we did it on Homecoming Day in the new stadium, or only because they didn't think of it first.
It was due to it being homecoming day. They only come to one game a year and think they have a say over us that go to every game.GreenLantern wrote: ↑Tue Feb 16, 2021 7:26 pm I'll give Tulsa a year or two and then forward the name of the aviation service we all chipped in to contract for the 'Fire Rick Dickson' banner on Homecoming Day in Yulman. Southern Hills CC will never be the same, nor will the "praying hands' of ORU !!!!
Be a Hero Today.... Adopt a Shelter Pet... The Beatles once sang "Can't Buy Me Love"... I disagree, unconditional Love can be bought, for the nominal adoption fee at your local Pet Shelter !

Tulsa loves him. He still doesn’t wear ties.
Here’s the entire article: https://tulsaworld.com/sports/college/t ... 2545.htmlIt is said that his presence has done wonders for morale and energy within the athletic department, …
Also, there is his fund-raising talent. It’s on a championship level.
….TU had exceeded its goal on 2020-21 athletics fund-raising. That money is committed solely to operations – to doing everything necessary just to play ball at the NCAA Division I level and in the American Athletic Conference.

Happy for him. Fundraising definitely his strong suit. He was always handicapped working under Cowen. I heard from reliable sources he had some solid coaches ready to come in for basketball and football but Cowen gave him a small budget or nixed it (Tim Floyd). Cowen didn’t want a coach to make more than he did. He got blindsided in 2003 with the review, then Katrina in 2005. He never recovered from those two blows.
He sucked at everything. He didn't judge by wins and losses. He didn't know the review was going on because he was too busy playing tennis. He loved working under Cowen because there was no pressure to produce. As for that article the writer doesn't even know what the goal amount was. What a joke.

He got beat by him on the court and stiffed at the bank.

Is it possible that Rick Dickson could do a good job at Tulsa because he's not working for Scotty Cowen? I was never an RD fan, but his best work came in the wake of Katrina and the weeks immediately following Devin Powell's injury (which was in Tulsa, btw.)

Maybe working for Scotty boy turned him into "Rick the Dick". I know I've had a boss or two that was so difficult to work for that it affected me in a way that not only made me unhappy, but those around me as well.Show Me wrote: ↑Sat Jul 10, 2021 11:12 amSame here. Tulsa can keep him. This way he’s nowhere near Tulane.

I fault Tricky for being such a willing lap dog for Cowen. But in the end, it was Cowen that was the disaster for Tulane. Cowen pulled off the Hat Trick at Tulane--he hurt us athletically; he hurt us academically; and he hurt us financially. How Fitts and the BOT can continue to allow the Cowen Circle moniker is disturbing.

And there's still some out there that think he walks on water. The "Cowen Institute" should be kicked off campus and all ties with the man severed.
