In the end, every coach is going to get fired. Petrino put up about 8.5 wins per year in college football. Pretty goodSunamiwave wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2019 11:13 pm Petrino did a horrible job last year at Louisville. He went 2 and 8 before getting fired because he essentially quit on the team. The team was in complete disarray and things were going down hill fast. Louisville decided things were so bad they had to fire Petrino even though the university owes him more than fourteen million dollars based on his contract. I sure hope we never see Andy Cannizaro aka the baseball version of Bobby Petrino at Tulane. That could turn out to be a complete fiasco and embarrassment as was Bobby Petrino.

As if he is the only candidate. Just win baby. Right? No matter, TU is not hiring AC, it is not happening. There are better coaches even within the same NOLA market. Those coaches are not scumbags like AC. He is scum, deal with it. Cheating on ur partner is totally forgivable but what he did is total trash. Most importantly not a single person stood up for him, none.Profoundwizard wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2019 10:14 pm I’m going to be straight up with you, if he can win, I don’t really care about stuff from the past. So hiring Andy shouldn’t be a problem.
The guy actually turned out well as Andy will.

Again, not a single person associated with MSU athletics came to AC’s defense. No coach, no player, no admin... nothing.

He’s right where he needs to be right now. Needs to do more to prove he’s ready for a step up. From a strictly coaching perspective I think AC is better.mbawavefan12 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 02, 2019 12:18 amRiser, MattProfoundwizard wrote: ↑Fri Aug 02, 2019 12:09 amName themThere are better coaches even within the same NOLA market.

You guys can keep pushing for Cannizaro all you want but it is not going to happen and must not happen. Tulane is not going to hire the Bobby Petrino of college baseball when we can conduct a national search and hire the Willie Fritz of college baseball instead. Tulane would not hire Petrino for football so what makes you think they would be dumb enough to hire Cannizaro for baseball? If you guys really want the win at all costs Will Wade mentality than root for LSU. I am confident we can find a highly qualified coach to replace Jewett after next season that does not carry all of Canizarro’s baggage and can turn the program around like David Pierce did.

No offense to Willie Fritz, but we can do better than the Willie Fritz of college baseball. We have a more desirable job in baseball.

If we have a more desirable head coaching job in baseball when compared to football than surely we can hire a high quality coach without all of the liabilities and baggage of Cannizzaro. Let’s conduct a national search and find a highly qualified candidate like we did with David Pierce. Cannizzaro will never get the Tulane job as some of you are wasting your time constantly pushing for him. If you really support this disgusting win at all costs attitude even if it damages institutional integrity than go support LSU and Will Wade instead. It is not going to happen at Tulane. We can win without stooping down to that level.

Of course we can hire someone without baggage, but they probably won’t be as good a coach as AC.

To quote this moron during the above clip:

What was Rooker supposed to say?Despite being a constant social media pundit, this same Brent Rooker said absolutely nothing about AC after his dismissal. Nothing. He comments on everything but not this wonderful coach that changed his career. Go figure.
1. Rooker was not on the team when AC got fired, so he had no firsthand knowledge of what was going on.
2. Even the biggest AC fans realize that what he did was a fire able offense.
That doesn’t mean he should never get a 2nd chance.
You’re really coming off as angry calling AC a “scumbag” and Rooker a “moron”. Try not to be so emotional.

AC is without a doubt a scumbag.
This Rooker kid goes off about everything, yet has nothing and I mean nothing to say about AC, even after his boisterous comments, which in fact makes him a moron. You make a public statement then address it, otherwise your a moron. Either own up or keep ur mouth shut from the start. Accountability should matter.

What was he to say, nothing but if he does comment then address his statement instead of talking about who Tiger is paired with. Say u were wrong or saw a different person. These morons want to comment on everything and take zero responsibility for their words. It’s limitless and taking place e everywhere. I hope there is a tipping point. AC is far from a “great man”. Ur a pro ballplayer who apparently likes to express his thoughts.....constantly. Yea, you’re being irrationally angry about what Brent Rooker chooses to tweet about. It’s weird that you feel this strongly about it.Ur a pro ballplayer who apparently likes to express his thoughts.....constantly. So own up or shut up.
There are plenty of rational reasons for why Rooker wouldn’t comment about the situation. He had nothing to gain from it.
Hard truth here. The Tulane baseball job has never been more difficult. Eddie Smith knows this. The word in the coaching circles confirms this. Andy is damaged goods and that’s the only reason we’d have a minuscule shot at maybe getting him but that it’s very unlikely he’d risk his second chance here. He’s paid a big time price blowing perhaps the best gig in all of college baseball. He’ll get another opportunity sooner than later. He’s a Tulane alumnus and that's why guys on here are so supportive.
Matt Riser just beat us out for a Jesuit player because of tuition BS. In addition there is going to be news soon (not yet in the media) which is a massive blow to our recruiting class that Tulane admissions could have handled but choose otherwise.

This is great news that the baseball program is fucked and the only two qualified coaches for the job don't want it. Now we can just shut the program down and use the space for the two sports that matter. We can build one hell of a a football ops. building there along with a new arena for basketball. Bright days ahead.

Louisville fired Petrino for poor on-field performance--after giving him a second chance. If Tulane give's AC a second chance, and the team doesn't perform well, then yes fire him, just as we need to fire TJ now.Sunamiwave wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2019 10:51 pm LOL so Andy has one good year and then completely screws over his players in only his second year at MSU and you are ready to let him coach at Tulane? This is embarassing!! Andy is the Bobby Petrino version of college baseball and Louisville just fired Petrino for letting the program go to hell in a hand basket. Petrino is a smart and talented football mind but had major issues. For the record I want Tulane to fire Jewett but there is no way I want Andy to even get near the program. There are many other highly qualified candidates for the job that would do great at Tulane.
