Improvement needed:

https://www.nola.com/sports/tulane/tula ... 7242b.html

You usually make your biggest in season jump from week 1 to week 2. We need that to be the case to get this one in the win column. KSU lost their OC, Collin Klein to Texas A&M. He's a good one. Hopefully our D can take advantage of that.

We've got a game under our belt and they don't. Whoops, delete this.

Hopefully the refs improve as well in 2nd week…. After that FAU call that went against them, today Boise guy running down field at the 10 yd line, gets hit, ball comes out Ga southern recovers, refs said he had never caught the ball….Boise ends up scoring.

I thought the referees were pretty bad the entire weekend. The game last night between A&M & ND looked like the referees bet on A&M. I guess not surprising given it was an SEC team.

I agree...the visitors returned tickets should go to Tulane students first, then to various high schools,,,,make noise behind that visitors bench !

KSU lost 4 of their starting OL from last season. Hopefully our DL can take advantage of that.

National coverage

Ty Thompson dangerous in “Typhoon” wildcat package
https://www.si.com/college/tulane/news/ ... nsas-state
Thompson is the fastest player on Tulane’s roster, even at 6-foot-4. During fall camp, Thompson was clocked running 23 miles per hour. To put that in perspective, Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill’s top speed is 23.32 miles per hour.

If Mensah finishes the next two games, he will finish the year as #1 but things can change coming out of the Oklahoma game we will see, Sumrall still is talking of using all three quarterbacks in certain situations. Not normal, A starting quarterback should be able to be versatile and handle all situations that are presented. Still question is who handles the speed of the game best when it gets real against top competition. The best Quarterback is not the strongest arm or quickest feet, if that was the case Montana, Brees, or Griese would not have been famous. Who processes the game best like a computer, who can see the 2nd or 3rd receiver if the lst receiver is covered. Who makes the quickest decisions when the pass rush gets real, or when teams throw something, you haven't seen before.

Dude you are still on this hill? You need a hobby or perhaps a woman.

All 3 qbs will probably play in all games until one pulls ahead either in games or practices. I could see Ty having packages just for him (I think Coach said that).

Mensah is the starting Quarterback. Ty Thompson has packages that we will see each week. Horton is the backup, and still in the running should Mensah falter. But right now, it's Mensah's job. If he plays well, Horton and Thompson's roles will not change. Mensah is our starting QB unless his play dictates otherwise. Horton is #2, and Thompson has his packages. Of course it's subject to change as it is at every program. This is Mensah's job, and unless he folds under pressure or gets hurt, the other two are fading to the back and take few, if any snaps with the first team in practice going forward.
