And, can you imagine what the 2% look like who don't get in? Hell, even 'Nut could get into that place, they would have to take him!

And, Marshall's endowment is $192 million. Some "peer of Tulane"?

They are beyond us in thug baseball players, coaches and directors of baseball operations.

I can remember some almost-fights in football and basketball. One, in particular at Devlin that had to be broken up when Shawn Finney was an asst. That is a school that somehow seems to attract renegades (Randy Moss syndrome?).

Tigers will rant with this, Guidry arrested DUI night before Western Kentucky played LSU, guess he is not like players with a curfew night before game. Guidry has two other DWI arrests!!!

gbg, since they didn't hire Lionel Washington are you going to be the thorn in Guidry's side the same way you foolishly argued for Pratt's job to be taken by Horton because of the spring game and some meaningless skills team competition? This incident was 12 years ago. Get a life!

This is over and done, the future will bear out if his coaching proves stronger than his past character issues. Just want everything to be clear, pros and cons, ignoring a con sets up for a rude awakening later on. As a Green Wave Nation we have to live with it and see!!!

LSU’s coaching staff remains filled. There were no immediate departures upon season’s end, and there’s yet to be any news about a coach leaving.

It’s rare for an entire staff to stick together, but LSU just might do it this year.

Still, the assistant mill never stops turning and there’s always the possibility of a shakeup. If that were to happen, now, or a few years from now, there are some obvious names that would generate speculation.

From up-and-coming assistants to coaches who have seen it all, here are five names to watch who could be future assistants on LSU’s staff.

Should [autotag]Matt House[/autotag] leave for the NFL, Guidry should get a call.
Guidry has deep Louisiana ties. He began his coaching career as a GA at McNeese State before coaching at Louisiana high schools. He made his way back to the college ranks, eventually serving as the head coach of McNeese.
He just took the defensive coordinator job at Tulane after leading strong units at Marshall. At 51, he’s not young, but he’s not old. Next time LSU has an opening at DC, keep an eye on Guidry.

One other defense came pretty darn close to finishing first: Marshall. Defensive coordinator Lance Guidry pulled off a top-25 finish in stop rate last season, and this group got even better in Year 2. The Herd had the best third-down defense in college football and held Notre Dame and eight other opponents to 21 points or less. If you factor in their two games against FCS opponents, their season stop rate was 80 percent.

The only time I can recall our d-line playing a one-gap was on the safety play on January 2nd. There is nothing wrong with deploying a well executed one-gap as it does nothing but re-enforce the effectiveness of a dynamic two-gap,

Hey dude, I am no fool, don't you think that article knows Guidry for what his history says he moves on quickly, McNeese leaves him go after winning no explanation. At Western Kentucky they criticized him for going for a win, instead of taking a sure field goal for the tie, then he throws the team under the bus says he did what they wanted. Did not take blame. Gets arrested the night before his team plays LSU for DWI, one of his 3 DWI arrest. Hope for the good of the Wave, that his past does not come back to haunt us. Everyone deserves a second chance, Looks like several second chances across his career. All I am saying is his coaching speaks for itself, who knows why McNeese left him go, then Western Kentucky said they would discipline Guidrey internally. Stayed only one year at Southeastern. Good coaching record, some other issues with character, we brag on the character of our university, hope he lives up to our expectations. I am not being a fool, a fool hides things and covers them up, I truly hope Guidrey succeeds because we need, him to take the next step. Roll Wave!!!

Guidry let go from McNeese because he didn't win enough games. They were perennial playoff teams in the FCS level before he became the head coach and he missed the playoffs all 3 years. Also, our previous DC left after only two years. If Guidry leaves for a bigger job, it only means he did a good job.

At the snap Jenkins is to Talianich's left, he passes him on the right on the way to the ball carrier. I've watched it a few dozen times. He did not simply jump the gap. Call it a twist, twich, stunt, whatever you want, but you're right, it was something different and it worked. And Nick Anderson cleaning up at the end prevented any second effort to escape the end zone.
