@TUFitts
President Fitts, with all due respect, you DO understand that a successful athletic program in a P5 Conference would reap HUGE benefits for the University, both on the athletic & academic sides! Athletics WOULD BECOME SELF SUFFICIENT & academics could receive a MULTI-MILLION check each year?

Isn't it your job to advance the university both academically and financially. ?

For sure. Small sample but Alabama now getting more students from Jesuit than Tulane.

And if he did, he wouldn't understand it. The logic of it isn't discussed in peer-reviewed academic white papers.

Seriously? You want an answer ask Fitts. He won’t see you it here.

And we’ve just been popped, by realignment.

we are stating the "obvious" ... to those who wish to remain "oblivious"
Be a Hero Today.... Adopt a Shelter Pet... The Beatles once sang "Can't Buy Me Love"... I disagree, unconditional Love can be bought, for the nominal adoption fee at your local Pet Shelter !

It's very telling of the times when us and the YOGGIES start to align in agreement...

We are fast approaching a critical situation where the remaining fan base has reached a level of displeasure similar to that of the Toledo era. Dannen HAS to address this NOW or it will just continue to get worse. We have an athletic director that has allowed this program to regress in conference affiliation. I wonder if this has ever happened before? Dannen it’s time to say SOMETHING !!

What can he say? Tulane football was on an upward trajectory - for Tulane - prior to this season and thus the poor on the field performance this season was unforeseeable to Dannen and everyone else. Heck, there were posters on this very forum that suggested that the 2021 Tulane team could/would win 8+ games and potentially contend for an AAC title.

The facilities may be an issue, but if there are not private donors willing to pay to upgrade them, there is not much that can be said about them. Arguably, there is less to be said now now that the Big 12’s expansion plans are clear, as if there is not a seat for Tulane in that conference, there certainly won’t be a seat in the SEC, B1G, or ACC.

Here is what Fitts could do right now to help us- Vote AGAINST this upcoming expansion with conference USA teams. Do nothing, hold back the teams trying to leave, and add as few as needed over the next 3 years. Re evaluate in a year or two. These teams aren’t hit commodities and going elsewhere (who cares if they do).

He’s going to vote based on what TD thinks is best.

But TD doesn't think at all about Tulane, or the AAC. He's just working on his resume and Rolodex, with his NCAA sub-committees. He has totally punted on Jewett, realignment, NIL/Employee status, and now the collapse of Tulane football--he just doesn't care about anything beyond getting away from Tulane as fast as possible.
