Depends on who you comparing it to. It was pointed out that we have been passed by SMU and TCU. I’d bet had we invested in Athletics to the point that we were consistently ranked we’d do much better with donors.
At least with Athletic donors. People more likely to give to winners and be associated with that success.
Years and years of losing has no doubt hurt potential athletic donations.

anymore. I WAS a big proponent of this many years ago but now it is a futile exercise. I heard Dannen will block tweets and people if he disagrees. So, never thought I’d say this, what’s the point. Sad but true.

They will come out with a rough Draft sometime in November. It is totally irresponsible for you ninnies to constantly knock the man when he currently is very busy with the NCAA Committee. The Constitution Committee will hold its introductory meeting this week(This is a month old) and submit a working draft of its proposals for membership feedback in November before a special constitutional convention begins no later than Nov. 15. The ultimate proposals will be given to the NCAA board of governors by Dec. 15, with the full membership voting on it in January at the NCAA convention.

What will be required to get to that point remains to be determined.
“I really don’t know yet other than I know it’s going to be a massive time and energy commitment,” Dannen said. “But we have a veteran (administrative) staff, a veteran coach staff and I feel pretty good about how we’re going to function during that time period.”
This latest responsibility will expand Dannen’s influence in the NCAA. He already is the chair of the NCAA football competition committee and is a member of the NCAA football oversight committee.

Our Athletics Department is swirling around the toilet bowl about to be flushed by forces outside of Tulane and the NCAA. We want him ON THE JOB. Maybe you'd like it if Tulane Athletics gets as much attention as, say, Senior Olympics.

While the DJIA went from 15,000 to 34,000. Just saying, endowment growth has lagged considerably. Keep in mind we only have to go back to 1990 for the DJIA to be 2500. Has our endowment grown at a rate equal to half of the stock market? Has it been even 10%? It's been pathetic growth and it's not easily explained. And the benchmark I've used here doesn't account for new money coming into the endowment, and a whole slew of other factors.

Another spectacularly crazed rant, gb. First of all, the NCAA has no substantive future. Secondly, Dannen isn’t spending 70% of his time on NCAA subcommittees to give Tulane good exposure, he’s doing it to give Troy Dannen good exposure. Your boy is conducting a non-stop job search on Tulane’s nickel, while our athletic dept. is imploding. The next time we hear anything from Troy Dannen is when he announces he has just accepted another AD position, or when he announces that he has just won the National Bass Fishing Championship.
