He's lost more than he's won. He's 31-43 and 16 -32 in the AAC. He's only won 6 regular season games against FBS teams in a season once. That was last year against a watered down COVID schedule.

The only way our athletics programs improve, both football and basketball, is for some very wealthy benefactors to decide to make it happen. We need a new basketball arena, a football complex, and money to buy coaches and players. We all hate LSU, but they have people willing to pay Orgeron to go away and offer 75 mm deals to lure a top coach away from his present job. We have people on the board who have made billions owning sports teams so they certainly know what is required. Are they disinterested because the University President, the faculty, and the entire academic side opposes having the university to do so and they believe that the resistance would be so strong that it would stymie success regardless of what they did? I think that’s the case though I don’t pretend to have any inside information or connections. It just seems that if the university president and athletic director went to the Glazers and Benson and enthusiastically outlined a plan to make us a first rate athletic college it would happen.
