Where the Hell is that girl field goal kicker when you really needed her?
If the SEC could find a way to get rid of Vandy, it would. Tulane-Vandy-Rice, still giving private school Div. 1 football a bad name after all these years.

At least vandy is doing baseball. We, on the other hand, have played dead in any of the 3 “important “ sports. I think bowling is competitive. And Vandy is getting SEC money. We, under the intelligences of The people who can’t run a successful operation-can stand on the corner to beg for funds to run a crappy show.
And, Rice was good @ baseball for a while too.Dave breslin wrote: ↑Sun Sep 26, 2021 10:01 am At least vandy is doing baseball. And Rice has kept its academic reputation up there
A Tulane ranking of 42 for USN&WR in a backward poor state like Louisiana is almost a miracle. https://www.usnews.com/best-colleges/tu ... rsity-2029Wave755 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 26, 2021 10:17 amAnd, Rice was good @ baseball for a while too.Dave breslin wrote: ↑Sun Sep 26, 2021 10:01 am At least vandy is doing baseball. Vandy had almost no fans on its side of the field for a home game against a conference top 10 opponent. https://www.tennessean.com/story/sports ... 864909001/
My point was everyone has the right to be skeptical of whether elite private universities really belong in P5 conferences. And, the Vandy “girl kicker stunt” last year only confirmed this brief.

Vandy has not , as our stupid Board has done , de-emphasized , ( 1950 ) ; voluntarily , ( 1965 ) , left the SEC ; torn down their on campus stadium , ( 1977 ) .
President Fitts , B of A , it's put up or forever hold your peace time . Make Tulane ATHLETICS relevant and top 30 again .

This isn't a fair argument about baseball. Because of their endowments, all students at Vandy and Rice essentially pay no/very little tuition. With baseball being a minimal scholarship sport, that is a huge advantage. That's why TOPS was such a huge benefit to LSU and Louisiana state universities. They didn't have to use any scholarship money on LA players and could save it all for out-of-state kids.Wave755 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 26, 2021 10:17 amAnd, Rice was good @ baseball for a while too.Dave breslin wrote: ↑Sun Sep 26, 2021 10:01 am At least vandy is doing baseball. It looks like the AAC isn't strong enough to pull Boise or SDSU.

Air Force & Colorado St. to AAC next week? https://www.deseret.com/2021/9/28/22698 ... -12-invite
I still trying to see the advantages of inviting Boise, hell if yuou are going to invite boise, Invite Memphis State...Memphis academic rating is rite at 250...acclaimed Boise is about 310, with zero TV audience and no fukin' Fed Ex $$$, no basketball revenue and travel expenses out the kazooo, what dumb azz puts these biz plans together ?.. because that is what it is, a business, not a damn conferenceWave755 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 29, 2021 7:17 am Air Force & Colorado St. to AAC next week? https://www.deseret.com/2021/9/28/22698 ... -12-invite
Be a Hero Today.... Adopt a Shelter Pet... The Beatles once sang "Can't Buy Me Love"... I disagree, unconditional Love can be bought, for the nominal adoption fee at your local Pet Shelter !

Agreed, I too don't understand the appeal or benefit of Boise to the "Big 12" In the past conferences were all about state, neighboring state & regional rivalries. Now it's all about ESPN.golfnut69 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 29, 2021 7:37 amI still trying to see the advantages of inviting Boise, hell if yuou are going to invite boise, Invite Memphis State...Memphis academic rating is rite at 250...acclaimed Boise is about 310, with zero TV audience and no fukin' Fed Ex $$$, no basketball revenue and travel expenses out the kazooo, what dumb azz puts these biz plans together ?.. because that is what it is, a business, not a damn conferenceWave755 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 29, 2021 7:17 am Air Force & Colorado St. to AAC next week? https://www.deseret.com/2021/9/28/22698 ... -12-invite

Fort Collins Coloradoan, the local rag, now also reporting CSU and AFA to the AAC, should be announced next week. Who else might be on Aresco’s hit list? I doubt he stops at 10 football schools.
Tulane is the University of Louisiana
Before promoting some of these teams for the AAC check home attendence, some of these teams have less fans than our Wave. San Diago St has 17,000 fans combined in two home games. 7,000 then 10,000. No fan support no commitment and no funds to support long term success!!! Check stadiums and attendance.golfnut69 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 29, 2021 9:08 am hell...big12, AAC go after UTSA, beat Illionis on the road and beat memphis, that SEC killer, on saturday

California is a football wasteland—as the PAC12 is finding out. Just too many other things to do out there, in a great weather and surroundings.gbgreenie wrote: ↑Wed Sep 29, 2021 7:42 pmBefore promoting some of these teams for the AAC check home attendence, some of these teams have less fans than our Wave. Looks like a strong commitment by Colorado St. from Athletics, did not see a baseball facility. Also several Academic Facilities for Athletes[
Colorado St. average attendance lst two home games 30,000+
Canvas Stadium seats 36,500
Moby Basketball Arena= 8000
Indoor Practice Facility opened 2009_ 48,000 sq. ft.
Outside Football Practice Field opened in 2017- 133,000 sq ft.
8800 sq ft. Weight Room opened in 2017
Practice basketball and volleyball Facility open in 2009, 8700 sq. ft.
The Rams volleyball team has participated in the NCAA tournament 22 consecutive seasons, the longest such postseason streak in school history by any sport program.
Rivalries
Rocky Mountain Showdown
Eight times since 1998, Colorado State and in-state rival Colorado have faced one another in the annual football battle in Denver at Invesco Field at Mile High. Since the game initially moved to Denver in 1998, the teams played before the largest crowds in state history to witness a college sporting event.
Border War
The Border War featuring CSU and Wyoming - the longest rivalry in each school's history - dates back to 1893. Since 1968, the schools have battled for possession of the Bronze Boot traveling trophy. The bronzed battle boot was worn in Vietnam by CSU ROTC instructor Dan Romero.
Ram-Falcon Trophy
The Ram-Falcon Trophy originated in 1980 to highlight the series between CSU and Air Force. The wood-carved trophy was produced by local artist Bill Wrage. The Air Force ROTC detachment on the CSU campus initiated the creation of the trophy.
CSU Marching Band/CSUMB (MU 204)
The CSU Marching Band is the largest and most visible student organization at CSU. The ensemble maintains an annual enrollment of approximately 250 members representing every college on the CSU campus. The band, of which 85% are non-music majors, performs annually for more than a million spectators including performances at all home football games, the Denver/9News, Parade of Lights, the Colorado Bandmasters Association Regional/State Festivals, Denver Bronco games, and NCAA football bowl games throughout the United States.
Colorado St. Reporting NCAA Athletic Budget including 10 million in coaches salaries, those in the know can compare commitment to Tulane's Athletic Budget.

SDSU has a big enrollment in a huge city and they are breaking ground on a new stadium on campus (they have been playing far away at Qualcomm stadium). They have been very competitive athletically and only getting better. They would be a big get, but I don’t think that’s happening. Maybe after air force and Colorado state, and is Boise gets left out of big 12 even more likely.
Denver Post says CSU Rams should say “no” to AAC. https://www.denverpost.com/2021/09/28/s ... nt-future/
